COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

750 from Andersons, $7.99. Orange-brown murky ugly mess; virtually no head. Aroma dark fruit, vegetation, oak, vanilla, yeast, spicy, banana, alcohol heat; syrupy boozy hot mess, wow. Flavor is a bit odd; really yeasty with a strange bitter alcohol astringency thing; huge amount of alcohol heat in this. Alcohol is not hidden at all, but dammit I don’t care. Medium body. This is really a weird one: a huge mediocre beer with some kickass bourbon barrel aging. I’d happily drink this for free but I’ll probably not buy again.

Pours amber with minimal head. Despite the lack of head, it had a lot of carbonation. Nose is underwhelming but flavor OS robust with a nutty/boozy aftertate with hints of cherry. Very good and just the right amount of alcholol taste.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy brown with an ecru head. Aroma of bananas and whisky. Very boozy but hidden under there are flavors of caramel, vanilla, raisin and, of course, whisky.

Pour is a murky dark orange/red color with no head at all. Tons of alcohol on the nose, good bit of oak and vanilla, dark fruits (cherry, fig), sweet ripe banana, and a touch of yeast. Pretty prominent bourbon taste (although not overbearing) up front, a bit of oak and caramel, sweet syrupy notes, some ripe fruit, and vanilla. It’s good, and it has more going on than most other barrel aged beers, but it feels like it’s missing something.

Strong and sweet. Vanilla and dark fruit nose. Oaky thick roasty syrup flavors. Yum!

Bottle poured into snifter. Appealing ruby red-brown color, substantial creamy eggshell colored head. Good aroma with notes of dark fruits, slight spice, hints of bourbon and oak. Expected a little more power behind it though. Taste is on point though. Dark cherry, fig, yeast, and belgian spice sit nicely atop a sturdy foundation of bourbon and vanilla. Very good although a bit on the sweet side for sure. Sticky and smooth on the palate. Could benefit from a little more dryness.

Dark amber/cider color with light particles; Medium creamy body; Aroma of sweet malt, vanilla, toffee, & dark fruit; Flavor of sweet malt, yeast, dark fruit (notably plums & dates), caramel/toffee, and raisons; Warm smooth finish; Nicely balanced; Overall, quite sweet - but decent overall.

750 c&c from France 44. Pours dark copper with no head. Aromas of dark fruit supported with oak notes. Full bodied. Flavor is sweetish dark fruit, bitterness, oak, bourbon, and I really think butterscotch. Or not. There’s a lot going on - except there’s no real heat impact - even in the gullet. It’s far from sticky, and the oak/bourbon certainly keep the malt at bay. Very very nice ale.

Sweet, syrupy quad. Strong honey finish. Mellowed out after 1.5 years of aging. Going to add more of this to my cellar.
