marchcow (514), Coralville, Iowa, USA Dec 2, 2007 Cream cheese aroma, some fruitiness. Golden orange colors. Cream cheese flavors, malt, dried figs, caramel, bourbon. Creamy palate, pretty good.
Hophead22 (265), Redlands, California, USA Oct 11, 2008 22oz bottle. Nice copper color, good white head. Sudbtle vanilla aoma, nice and malty. Very rich and malty, just sublime. This is quite a good beer, very decadent. Thanks to Brian(ogglethorp) and Steven(Swolf3) who both set bottles to me. MAP (897), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Oct 6, 2008 Yep, there’s that sugary-bourbon-vanilla-wood scent. Rich sweet and very mellow. Flavor pops at first with a burst of heat, slight vanilla and caramel malt. The yeasty quad aspect is so relaxed, this is almost like a well-refined barley wine. Oh yeah, beautiful dark amber with a small head. As this warms up it just gets better and better, smoother, sweeter and more complex. JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 4, 2008 Pours a deep orange-brown colour with a fast fading head. Aroma is quite nice. Soft sweet orange-peel and plummy character with a touch of cherry as well. Fairly light vanilla and bourbon that integrates pretty nicely with the lightly spicy esters. It’s a little bit vineous as well. Flavour wise, it’s pretty good, but a little bit boozy. Peppery alcohol and a little bit of light Belgian spiciness. A hint of peachiness along with a sticky sugary sweetness on the back. As it warms the bourbon really picks up. OK, but way too hot and boozy Snojerk321 (1024), San Diego, California, USA Oct 3, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a hazed, dark ruby brown with a small beige ring for a head. Nose was very sweet, tons of vanilla, bourbon, oak and caramel. Flavor was also very sweet with all the components mentioned above with a good boozy kick. Very impressed with this Quad. kennydiaz (73), staten island, New York, USA Sep 27, 2008 POURS NICE AND DARK. VANILLA AND OAK TASTE. TASTE VERY MUCH LIKE A CARBONATED GOOD RED WINE. TASTE VERY MUCH LIKE A RED WINE AND IS AS HIGH IN ALCOHOL CONTENT.
