Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

22 Oz bottle, smell of oak and bourbon. Not bad but I;m not a huge fan of bourbon so I was hoping that there would be more flavor to offset the alcohol. Only Rochefort can pack 11+% of alcohol and have it balanced. Would be better aged for a few months.

22 oz bottle poured into a trappist glass has a red amber color with a thin off white head that fell quickly. there is some visible sediment. aroma has sweet ripened banana yeast, dark fruit, candy sugar, vanilla, and has mellowed a bit from the barrel aging cutting back on the booze. mouth feel is medium thick with some coating and lighter carbonation. flavor has dark dried fruit, caramel malt, yeasty banana, spices, and oak. alcohol picks up quickly against a thick sweet malted base and the wood mellows it all out a bit. better than the quad but still way to hot.

Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Amber/copper colored brew. Very fruity and bourbon flavored. It’s too sweet for me.

Bottle: Courtesy of Jason...thanks man! Dark copper color with a shimmering cream head. Nose has hints of dark, toasted malts, tart cherries, vanilla and oak. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Dark, bready malts, dark and lightly tart fruits present along with the vanilla and oak. The alcohol does indeed make its presence felt but not in too much of a detracting way.

220z bomber thanks to OldStyleCubFan. Interesting Quad! Poured clear copper with a large off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Heavy complex caramel, bourbon and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture. Heavy balanced bourbon flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol burn finish of moderate duration.

bourbon, caramel, and root beer aroma. lightly hazy amber under a small off-white head. flavor is very much like bourbon. vanilla, caramel, butter, peachy/pear fruits also show. quite boozy. too much oaky wood presence. almost dominates everything to the point where i don’t notice there’s a beer in there!
