4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer pours medium dark with a creamy tan head. The head doesn’t last too long but it coats the glass throughout the drink.
Aroma is almost like a quad. Good carbonation.
The taste is pleasant, not too sweet, not too sour. The alcohol is well hidden and it’s 11%. Enjoyable on the front of the tongue and the rear.
Most enjoyable. I only bought two btls at the brewery. Wish now that I had gotten more. Guess this means I need to go back!
About this Brewery: For an American Brewery, they really do a great job with the Belgian style. I must credit a guy named "Joe," from Montgomery County, PA whom I met at Beer Circus in Belgium. He told me to got to Weyerbacher and he was spot on. I have Joe’s tele number and I must call him and buy him a brew. This brewery bottle conditions these beers. Everything that I have sampled from this brewery has been great.

Sweet molasses and medical notes abound. Clear, beautiful copper color. Sweet sugary flavor, some alcoholic rum effects too. Real gut punch. I don’t remember caring too much for the Insanity version, which is more whiskey like, and I think I like that better. I was warned that this was overrated against other barleys and Weyerbacher’s other products. A real gut punch beer. Don’t try both versions at the same time...now you my fellow reviewer too have been warned.

Bottle - 355ml. Cloudy copper body with a thin off-white creamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar, yeasty, and fruity hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its perfectly well balanced malty/hoppy taste carries fruity, yeasty, and cinnamon notes. Ends with a long, warming bittersweet finish. Enjoyable winter warmer.
