Commercial Description:
At Weyerbacher, we prefer to brew things true to European style guidelines, so our barley wine is definitely on the malty side, without being overly sweet. Notes of date or perhaps fig on the palate follow a pleasurably malty aroma to your taste buds. The finish is warm and fruity, and begs for the next sip.

This is on tap at Just Sports Bar and Grille. The look is a beautiful amber color with a head that lasts and an ok lacing. The smell is amazing. Just from the smell you can tell that its thick and high in alcohol. But its sweet and malty and a little fruity. Wow, it is a very thick and full bodied. You can really taste the fruitiness to it! Its great. For an 11.1 percent the alcohol is a little present but not much. Another home run for Weyerbacher!

12oz bottle from Kingdom Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark reddish brown with a thick and frothy tan head that settles slowly. Good head retention and lacing on glass. Aroma is sweet malt, maple syrup, dark ripe fruit, some molasses and caramel. Flavor is much of the same: sweet malts, caramel, slight hoppy bitterness throughout with a clean, sweet finish. Medium-bodied with notes of phenol.

2002 bottle. Sweet malty aroma. Dark brown in appearence. Virtually no head. Very easy to drink, not alot of hoppiness to it at all. Could easily get messed up drinking this stuff. I like it.

Pours a hazy brownish color with an off white head. Aroma is of a lot of dark fruits, malts, and some alcohol. Flavor is very sweet but not overly done and is balanced by some hops.

On tap at Brother Tuckers. Nice amber/red color with a small beige head. Very sweet malt, dried friut and caramel on the nose. Great sweetness without being overdone. Very nice.
