3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is quite fruity. Not what you would expect from a barley wine. Pour is a semi translucent amber with a fair amount of suspended particulate. Taste has some iron in it. It is almost as if they either used dirty water or Fermented/Stored the beer in metal. A decent brew but not the most enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Born on date of 03/15/20 and a best by date of 03/20/20.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking black color with a thin rim of a white foamy head that quickly dissipated. There wasn’t any lacing.
The smell started off with light raisins, sweet apples, a little bit of roastiness, and sweet cocoa. There’s a light breadiness rolling into blend nicely.
The taste mainly copies the aroma and adds a bit more of the breadiness and raisin in the aftertaste. There’s a slight sticky little finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel to it. Carbonation rides super low allowing the stickiness to dampen my tongue nicely.
Overall, this is a good English barleywine. There really isn’t that normal "tobacco" back up in the aroma, still, I liked it for me. I’d have it again.

Adquirida en Whole Foods, LES, New York. Buena barley wine. Un poco empalagosa para mi gusto.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml. bottle. Purchased @ Willems & Zoon. Bottled on 04/21/2015. Very dark brownish amber, tanned solid creamy head. Nose is very thick syrup herbal cough syrup, touch herbal Sirop de Liège, burned sugar, herbal caramel, very thick, syrupy cough syrup fare. Taste is very thick herbal, thick wild spices, faint five spices, big cough syrup, touch molasses, big herbal, herbal SIrop de Liège, cooked apples, touch raisin & brown banana, lingering herbal finish, wild spices, light herbal liquer, touch warming. Lower carb & cough syrp profile. Far too herbal & cough syrup like for me but still somewhat enjoyable in its own fashion. Interesting profile, rather surprised that something like this is so mainstream (relatively speaking).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled from bottle thanks to Benzai. Smells very nice and reminds me of grapes. Has a very nice color and looks clear when hold to the light. Tastes strong and solid but a little bit fruity at the same time. Great beer if you ask me!

Bedankt Benzai voor deze nieuwe bier ervaring. Zeer aan het percentage. Ruikt, proeft en ziet er uit als geperste aardbeien met flink wat alcohol.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear copper brown from the bottle with bubbly off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma and taste are big on the caramel malts, sweet and boozy with hints of dark fruits behind. Solid barley wine if not for the huge boozy back end. Let’s see what she does to it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a ruby color with small tan head. Lively carbonation. Sweet aroma. Extremely sweet flavor, unbalanced. Bit of banana in there as well. Tiny bit of bitterness in the finish. Slightly disappointed, not as good as I had hoped.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A: Malty and toasty. Tons of raw grain with touches of alcohol and fruit.
A: Hazy red-brown color with a small and short-lasted, off-white head.
T: Rich, malty, grapes and a lot more spice notes (pepper, clove) than the nose had. Some woodiness shows after the finish. VERY nice balance here.
P: Carbonation is on the low side. Tends to get sticky as it warms.
O: a decent barleywine, not great, but very sippable.
