hiddenvariable (181), pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 28, 2008 sampled at kelly’s 2008 hell with the lid off. pours a cloudy red amber, with a thin off white head that quickly fades to a film. sweet earthy citrus hops smell. smoky burnt brown sugar taste that gave the impression of being similar to a roasted marshmallow, finished off with a hint of wood. sweet finish, with light bitterness, thick oily and sticky mouthfeel, fairly full body. not bad, but not outstanding.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a thick and frothy tan head that settles slowly. Good head retention and lacing on glass. Aroma is sweet malt, maple syrup, dark ripe fruit, some molasses and caramel. Flavor is much of the same: sweet malts, caramel, slight hoppy bitterness throughout with a clean, sweet finish. Medium-bodied with notes of phenol. Hophead22 (78), Redlands, California, USA Jul 13, 2008 2002 bottle. Sweet malty aroma. Dark brown in appearence. Virtually no head. Very easy to drink, not alot of hoppiness to it at all. Could easily get messed up drinking this stuff. I like it. Beerman6686 (536), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2008 Pours a hazy brownish color with an off white head.
