COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Weyerbacher, we prefer to brew things true to European style guidelines, so our barley wine is definitely on the malty side, without being overly sweet. Notes of date or perhaps fig on the palate follow a pleasurably malty aroma to your taste buds. The finish is warm and fruity, and begs for the next sip.

So this isn’t my favorite Barleywine, but it has is high points. A deep caramel color, poured with little head. Almost a medicinal quality to it. It is nice to see a beer that isn’t completely clear I must say. Claims to be malty, but could use more.

The aroma of dark fruit and alcohol. The taste is of alcohol, bitter and slightly fruity. Heavy bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth for a long while. No beer that I like, unfortunately. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Pours a caramel brown color with no foam head. Aroma is sugary sweet, honey, caramel, and dark fruits. Flavor is similar, with a pleasing sweetness. No alcohol bite or burn. Feels lighter than its ABV. Decent.

Nothing special appearance wise. Average color with minimal head and no retention or lacing. Slightly oily mouth feel that coats mouth. Flavor is smooth and filled with sweet flavor. Fruity and malty with some boozey flavor without any alcohol burn. Ok drink, nothing special.

poured into snifter a very slightly hazed bottle brown with thin just off white head and some lace. Aroma is figs, alcohol, and caramel. It’s fruity and candy sweet. Taste is sweetined figs, with a gaining grain taste as you swallow. Finish is slightly alcohol and warming. Like drinking a Fig Newton. Really like this one.

Aroma of figs, dates, prunes and alcohol. Sweet flavour of dark fruit along with burned caramel and a very decent bitterness. Alcohol dads warmth and it stays on the tongue and in the throat for a long time. Powerful in flavour without going over the top. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Beer Authority, New York. Colour is clear dark orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Dark fruits, raisins, some hops and malts. Very easy and twisted barley wine.

color is burnt copper. Aroma is thick of sweet dark fruits. Its boozy, and gets more intense as it warms. flavor is sweet, bread and dark fruits. sticky mouth feel. The alcohol is not hidden in the malty sweetness. alcohol gets real intense in the finish. Good barley wine. They advertise this as not overly sweet but it is. That is my only knock on it.

Tap, another overly sweet BW that is a struggle to finish and reminds me why I don’t like this style. Although, there are some very good BWs; this isn’t one of them. This really suffers from lack of hop aroma, flavor, and bitterness. Unbalanced and boring.
