COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Weyerbacher, we prefer to brew things true to European style guidelines, so our barley wine is definitely on the malty side, without being overly sweet. Notes of date or perhaps fig on the palate follow a pleasurably malty aroma to your taste buds. The finish is warm and fruity, and begs for the next sip.

12 ounce bottle- poured a wonderful pumpkin orange with a light head. Aroma took me a few moments to classify, but definitely favored melon and dates. Taste was distinctly cantaloupe, (I couldn’t make that up), raisin and date, almost cloyingly sweet. the palate was thick and syrupy. A nice diversion, but almost too sweet.

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with an almost non-existent off-white head. The nose is caramel, sultanas, dates, dried apricot, hard water notes, and light cherry. The taste leads off with dried fruit, alcohol, caramel, and almond that heads into marzipan, light dried cherry, woody notes, dark bread, and light bitterness. Surprisingly thin on taste for a barley wine. Not bad, but it just seems to be missing the usual "oomph" you find in barley wines.

Bottle. Dark ruby with a quickly dissipating 1 finger off white head. Aroma is cherry and almond with a hint of grape. Taste is grape, date, fig and a touch of toffee. Slight roast note on the finish. Medium sticky mouthfeel with light carbonation. Needs something more to balance the sweetness.

Sweet aromas of caramel, malt and toffee. Taste follows nose. Malt forward englishbarley wine. Very nice. Similar to old foghorn but not as sweet.

Sample at the brewery. Pours caramel colored brown with thick head and nice lacing. Malty, brown sugar on the nose. Full bodied. Heavy alcohol flavors alongside some surprising sweet notes--malts, caramel, earthy oak. Pretty cool.

Bottle pour reddish copper. Nose sweet malt, raisin, toffee, hint of floral. Taste sweet dried fruit malt up front then early palate bitterness. Late palate heat and alcohol. Jammy raisin finish.

Barwa:Barwa: miedziana, lekko zmętniona, praktycznie bez piany, wysycenie minimalne.

Malzig alkoholischer Antrunk, etwas karamellig. Die starke Süße bleibt vorhanden, etwas nussig, minimal fruchtig. Konstante Malzigkeit, weiterhin karamellig mit leichter Bitterkeit. 10/9/9/9/6/9

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein rötlichoranges Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr süß malzig, Karamell, holzig, alkoholisch. Geschmack angenehm malzig fruchtig, wärmend, Karamell, alkoholisch.

Pours dirty brown copper with a small disappearing white ring. Aroma is dark fruity, loads of malts all different kinds. Taste is sweet, caramel, dark fruits, grape, small hop bitterness. Nicely complex. Tons of stuff going on.
