4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Ruby beer with minor yeast flakes. Thin but creamy head with bigger some bigger bubbles. Intense, dark fruity aroma has dates, dried apricots, creamy toffy, a hint of herbs and perfumy yeast notes. Sweet, intensly creamy toffy flavor, butterscotch notes, a touch of alcohol. Finishes as intense with aged dry fruit flavors, dark carmel, light bitterness and creamy butterscotch. Full bodied palate, starts with oily viscosity and finishes sligthly sticky with all the fruits and syrupy malts. Very enjoyable, though very sweet.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark amber with little head. Very smokey, malty smell. Deep burned type flavor, sweet and malty. Decently balanced taste but not as hoppy as a typical barley wine. Not as boozy as Insanity but for me, just not a typical good, barley wine. Disappointing

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with not much head and no lacing. The head that was there dissipated quickly. Aroma is sweet but not that of caramel malt. It smells like a bunch of sweet ingredients were combined making it difficult to explain. There is also noticeable alcohol present. Perhaps there are subtle fig notes and something else sweet but overall the aroma is subdued. Taste is also a little sweet with some cherry as well as a very slight sourness evident in the finish. It is also very dry but otherwise there isn’t much else except for the alcohol. I know that may be surprising to some but it does not have much taste. The body is on the full side with light carbonation. This beer doesn’t stand out in any way except for the high ABV if one of your goals is to get a buzz. I have had this several times over the years and once again find myself unimpressed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Been a minute. Remember a pretty thick malt bomb, but tamed. Mapley with hints of apple, and bittering from the hops towards the end...spicey linger. Decent BW.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 350ml an amber red ale with medium creamy head. Nose is intense on barley sugar, red fruit, and sweetness. Aroma is on a creamy fruit syrup, grapes, blackcurrant, apricot, apples, very sweet, caramel and even light chocolate notes, light diacetyl, spicy on pepper and cinnamom, banana (some Aventinus eisbok profile), phénols. Quite pleasant, near to belgian style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy dark amber pour, slight white head. Nose is malty, caramel and just a touch of hops. Mouthfeel is nice - not too heavy. Slightly bitter in the aftertaste. Nice balance of malt and some hops.

Strong welcoming aroma on opening. Impressive.
