COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Weyerbacher, we prefer to brew things true to European style guidelines, so our barley wine is definitely on the malty side, without being overly sweet. Notes of date or perhaps fig on the palate follow a pleasurably malty aroma to your taste buds. The finish is warm and fruity, and begs for the next sip.

Generic yet tasty english style Barley Wine, sweet dark fruits, caramel, light spice hop notes, pretty drinkable and flavorful. A good beer, nothing to be ashamed of, and favorably compares to BWs from bigger and more hyped breweries like DFH, Stone.

Bottle. Pours a ruby color with small tan head. Lively carbonation. Sweet aroma. Extremely sweet flavor, unbalanced. Bit of banana in there as well. Tiny bit of bitterness in the finish. Slightly disappointed, not as good as I had hoped.

2012 bottle from adnielsen that I’ve aged awhile in the rotbox. Caramel, plum, raisin, heat, light cocoa aromas. Caramel, slight cocoa, dark fruit, boozy flavors.

From NOTES. A: Malty and toasty. Tons of raw grain with touches of alcohol and fruit. A: Hazy red-brown color with a small and short-lasted, off-white head. T: Rich, malty, grapes and a lot more spice notes (pepper, clove) than the nose had. Some woodiness shows after the finish. VERY nice balance here. P: Carbonation is on the low side. Tends to get sticky as it warms. O: a decent barleywine, not great, but very sippable.

12 oz bottle. Hazy copper body is topped by a tan head that has great retention, especially for style. A load of sweet and medium roasted malts in the nose along with less pronounced alcohol esters. The alcohol is more evident in tasting where it is joined by notes of toffee, figs, and other dark fruits. Feel: a bit more heat than ideal but quite smooth.

8/16/15. Bottled 10/4/14. Pours burnt orange w no head and thin carbonation. Boozy w a touch of sherry. Dark fruit notes. More malt than hop. Still pretty raw. Lots of potential in future years ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very good barley wine, in my opinion. Boozy but well balanced, with sherry notes sitting alongside caramel, pear, cooked apple, honey and lots of figs. Touch of liquorice too. Medium to full body. Brown / red with very little head.

Pours a deep reddish mahogany color. Notes of heavy fig, licorice, belgian candi sugar, and dried fruit. Way too sweet and the alcohol is not well integrated.
