pbjclimber (150), Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2007 Pours a hazy dark gold color with medium carbonation. Taste is of sticky sweatness with a lot of honey and spice The alcohol is also distinctly present. I thought that this beer might geet better with age, but it is still a barely drinkable mess.
SuzyGreenberg (1028), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 30, 2008 22 oz. bottle - thanks to springslicker for the trade; pours clear, dark amber with slight head; fruity aromas of mints, cloves and licorice; low carbonation; flavors on the spicy side, a little tart and almost like fruit juice; a little hot with some pumpkin, vegi spice; a little on the odd side WeeHeavySD (1865), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Sep 29, 2008 Bomber bonused from hopdog. Shared with my girlfriend who loves Weyerbacher and Pennsylvania. Pours orange/red with a thin head. Nose is sweet and spiced. Taste is syrupy sweet and boozy. Boozy even after 3 years. This is interesting, but I can’t say if its great or not, I haven’t had this before to compare. Its at this point like a syrupy potent warming sipper. glkaiser (999), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 25, 2008 Thanks to SuzyGreenberg. Mint and clove aroma mix with roatsed malt in the taste. Minimal sweetness and a nice hit of alcohol that isn’t overwhelming at all. Strong bitterness to finish. Lots of spice/mint make this very interesting. Ibrew2or3 (1756), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Sep 24, 2008 This 2005 vintage brew is courtesy of SuzyGreenberg. Pours orange to copper with slight haze and thin white head. It has a pungent aroma of roses, sweet cherries, sweet red apples, raisins, pepper and finishing with some heat. The taste is much the same with biting fruity sweetness up front from cherries and sugar coated apple wedges. It then bleeds into rose pedals, molasses and caramel. Wow, there is a lot going on here. It is both bold and smooth at the same time. Very nice stuff. jjpm74 (3110), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA Sep 14, 2008 Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of sweet malt, spicy, some dark fruit. Tastes of juniper, lots of spruce, spicey, a plethora of clove. Finishes sweet and spicy.
