4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2008 Bottle at Kookfest 06. Piney, sappy, grapefruit. Sauvignon blanc grassy aroma. Hazy amber with beige/green head. Really intense sweetish malt and then very good hop on end. I do like it. 4.3/5
Rerate Bottle at HogTownHarry Fest ’08. I can’t think of a beer with a better aroma. I could quite happily curl up with a couple of bottles of this and not see the world for days on end.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber, little hazy coloured, with a small white head. Strong hoppy, fruity somewhat older parfume. Strong sweet body, nice balanced, finish is strong, dry bitter-hoppy with a longer ending.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Red berries and grapefruit in the aroma. A strong flowery hoppiness with just a bit of red berries. Likeable, but not well balanced.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Orange-amber with a lacey white head. The best nose of USA hops possible. Fluid orange marmalade cake. Hops, of course, but also some garden herbs, and preserved fruit (oranges). Oily, fully bodied, lipsmacking hopoils. This is how a great I²PA ought to be.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[2nd Low Countries RateBeer meeting] Aroma of loads of cascade hops, apples and malt. Hazy, orange-brown coloured with an off-white, firm head. Taste is sweet and sticky, heavy hoppy. More bitter towards the finish. Lacking balance.

Bottled, LCRBM. Aomra with lots of hops, fruity and malty. Orange/yellow color, beige head, good lace. Sweet start, malty, loads of bitter hops in the flavor as well. Sticky mouthfeel.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
[bottle] Pours a beautiful clear reddish brown color, with a huge, tan colored head. Excellent retention and lacing on the glass. Aroma is incredible and very potent, like some skunky, heady Cannabis. Flavors are intensely bitter, citrusy and rather sweet. Grapefruit, pine and a bit of malty sweetness. Certainly over the top in its hoppiness, I really anticipated this one and it did not dissapoint. An excellent IIPA!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a deep reddish color ale with a big foamy head with good retention. Aroma of citrus hops is pretty intense and covers the malt. Taste is also dominated by huge fresh citrus hops. Malt is certainly present but hard to taste with all the hops in there. Body is above average and beer is not over filtrated. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall, while this IIPA is very enjoyable, a better balance between malt and hops would have provided more enjoyment on my part.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from trade with gputty. Thanks Geoff! Pours a nice rich slightly dark amber with a big hearty frothy off white head. Nice lacing all the way down to the bottom of the glass. Aroma of sweet hops, pine and lemon. Taste of citrus, hops and bread dough. Has a bitter sweet snappy finish. A very nice IPA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz - thanks clarkVV - Aroma is simcoe plain and simple. Citrus, pine, and then the carmel shows up. Pours hazy light brown with huge solid head that slowly fades to leave tone of sticky lacing. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is creamy and smooth. I like it a lot.
