4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle: Cloudy coper color with an off-white stiff head. It has a marvelous hop aroma of dried out junipers, butter, citrus, and dry pine needles. The flavor is a virtual assault on the tastebuds as it bounces back and forth, almost simultaneously, between sweet and bitter, sweet and bitter. It has almost a candy syrup sense that fills up your nasal passageways. It leaves a great prolonged bitterness in your mouth. I like it a lot because of its uniqueness and creativity for the style. Thanks Indiana_Red for the serious hook up!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours dark redish amber with a fluffy white head that sticks around. Aroma is of peach, pineapple, grapefruit, some pine needles, and sweet vanilla cakey maltiness, sort of like pineapple upside down cake. Flavor is peach and pineapple with some pine coming in the finish backed fully by gingerbread, some honey, and a touch of malt syrup. Excellent balance in the front. Bitterness slowly rises in the finish and aftertaste to become very full but not unpleasent. Full body witha smooth palate.

Bomber. Poured a cloudy deep orange. Thick head mostly diminishing, leaving spots and bands of lacing. Deep citrus hop aroma, with traces of pineapple or mango, wood, burnt sugar, roast malt and some mild cheesy yeast. Great hop blast on the first sip, zesty citrus and pine, balanced very well against sweet toasty malt. Alcohol fairly well hidden, just a bit of smokiness noticeable. Medium slightly oily palate, with fine carbonation. Nice lingering piney/orange-rind hop bitterness on the finish. Pretty impressive 2IPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thick and sticky and malty. Nice spicy hops all over. Apricot, pine, grapefruit and floral hop flavors. Full bitterness, but well balanced by the heavy malt. Nice dense mouthfeel. A real nice beer, but lacking the complexity I expect with a high gravity beer like this. Perhaps thatís what comes with a single hop beer. Very sucessful experiment.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2010 (Bottle at OT, Stockholm) Pours hazy orange/brown. Almost no head. The smell is pine, citrus and malt. A light smokey touch. Fresh nose. Some fruitiness and rasin. The taste is fruity with a heavy bitterness. Rasin. You feel the taste of all the exotic fruits and citrus in the begining. After a while they are sweapt away by the bitternss. Medium bodied.

Many thanks to Beerdrenched for picking this IIPA up for me. Pours medium / dark copper with a thick dense tan head. Aroma is heavy on the floral hos with a good amount of caramel malt for balance. Some pine aspects as well. Not quite as assertive as youíd expect for 9%. Medium / full body with lots of gentle carbonation. Taste has floral hops that are full and rich with help from the malt. Bits of sweetness are in here as well as traces of woodiness. The finish brings out more wood and pine with the carbonation.giving a prickly sensation. Thick and bold enough to believe it is as strong as it is, but you donít taste much of the ABV. Excellent IIPA.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2009 Poured a nice amber color with a bit of a head. Lots of citrusy hop aroma. Smooth going down, a little bit buttery, but this needed some more malt. I like hops, but this one wasnít quite right. Iím not too sure why this is rated as highly as it is.
Re-rate: 12 oz bottle. Again, a nice amber pour with a fluffy white head. Piney, citrusy hop aroma. Itís pretty much just how I remember it and how I describe it above. I guess my palate has just changed pretty drastically since then and Iím enjoying it a lot more this time around!

Orange amber body with a small creamy beige head. (3+) Big hops in the aroma, green leafy hops and orange notes. More green hops in the flavour with a lightly astringent bitterness and mild resin. Average palate with a bit of body to spare. Solid hoppy brew that distracted me enough that I didnít write as much as I could have. Very nice. 9/3+/8/3+/16-17
