Commercial Description:
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Very sweet spicy floral hop aroma. Slight malt sweetness, but mostly a refined hop spice/sweetness. The flavor is warming bitterness, more of a spicy hop than a bitter hop, and it follows with a nice full mouthfeel that lingers on the tongue. Nice to be able to pick up a 4 pack at the local grocery store.

pours hazy burnt orange sienna with a thick fluffy tan head. overwhelming nose of grapefruit, resin, pine, and bubblegum. flavor is kinda like drinking unsweetened grapefruit juice. light lemon zest. malty backing. aftertaste is citrus, malt, light cereal. powerful brew...pretty awesome!

Bottle pours clear deep gold with a monster head and lot of lace. The aroma is honey and hops. The flavor is very hop forward, with some solid sweetness below. Palate is rich and substantial. Overall, this is sweet!

well darn. you know you have got a stellar IPA when you crack open the bottle and it does battle with the yet-to-wither Christmas tree in the front den. IPA 1...Christmas tree 0. pours into clouds of amber-orange confusion, braced for sappy seduction, and levels out a nice fluffy head that would do well caked onto a pecan pie. The brew is hopped all over the place, and has that Two Hearted Ale taste. I would say that if the place was out, I would substitute this brew for ye ol 2 hearts. Anyhow. Very chewy. Some earth tones, crisp and sweet, but not cloyingly. The last part of the brew breaks down a bit. not sure if theyve got it just right to hold it all together. still, not a bad sauce from...East PA..to the tune of Born In East LA of course.

12 oz. bottle - Poured a hazy honey color with medium head. Aroma - Stinky hops and sour milk. Fowl and rotten Flavor - Wow this stuff is nasty. Could not finish this one. Rotten fowl taste, maybe I had a bad bottle?? Palate - astingent hop taste with very strange aftertaste. Like chewing on a Dandelion. Overall - How in the heck does this beer get such a high rating. The first taste gave me that bitter nasty face. Hard to swallow?!?!

Bottle thanks to daknole. I have just enough time to enjoy the blend of pine caramel wafting from the bottle before it becomes a gusher. Hazy orange-brown pour, thick frothy tan head, a solid sheet of lace. Flavor is powerful in terms of coniferous hops, but also carries an unpleasant soapy bitterness. Also a touch of a sulfury off element. Medium bodied, very smooth, frothy mouthfeel.

Bottle. Powerful citrus aroma and malts. Cloudy deep reddish orange body, small off-white head. Somewhat sweet grapefruit and other citrus flavor. Very bitter lingering finish. Impressive and very tasty offering.
