Aroma is hops, earthy notes, pine and a hint of citrus. Flavor is hoppy but earthy. Good hop bitterness with some pine and citrus. Finsihes bitter with a little soapyness. Mouthfeel is medium but could use some more carbonation. Definitly a different take on the style with all the earthy flavors. Not my favorite but was enjoyable none the less. jrmac (213), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2008 Beer wasa hazy orange color. Nose is grapefruit, hops, and other citrus. Taste is a little disappointing to me. Very piney and not enough of that grapefruit that was on the nose. Still pretty complex though. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Pours a cloudy amber color with a medium off white head.Wonderful piney/citrus hop aroma with little hint of malt barely peeking through all that hop!!Taste of citrus hops dominates the flavor, with a nice solid caramel malt backing. A wonderful full bitterness finishes this brew up. Great flavor and nicely balanced! Seems like a big IPA vs a Double IPA.Thanks Brewblackhole!
