nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Aug 19, 2008 Updated: Oct 2, 20084 pack of 12 ozers purchased at Brawley’s in Charlotte. Poured into a Karmeliet tulip glass a hazy orange/gold color with a one finger whitish head. Medium amount of lacing. Aroma was awesome. Nose was a combination of citrus and pine. Flavor was well balanced with a slightly sweet malt taste up front with the bitter hops on the end. Medium-full bodied with good carbonation. Great Beer. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 18, 2008 Bottle in Shefiled...copper,rich piney hop resins, sweet resiny american hop, tart and juicy gameface23 (131), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 15, 2008 Updated: Oct 5, 2008I poured this one and I knew I was in for a good time. Hazy orange-red with a bubbly, cream colored head. The smell was amazing: hop dominated with equal parts grapefruit and pine. Beautiful mouthfeel. The only negative was that the finish was a bit too bitter. LIGONIER (4), Ligonier, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Aug 15, 2008 This beer was a surprise. I’m always looking for that Big Hop beer that will knock my socks off, and this is the real deal. Aroma was pure hops, like freshly cut from the field. Smooth going down the the bitter hop ending that opens the senses. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 13, 2008 At first I really liked the aroma. Great orange color; not much head. this is just dominated by bittering hops, so much so, that it just isn’t that good. Needs a little more balance. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Aug 13, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark caramel amber with lasting beige head and lace. Frsh hop citrus and toasted malt aroma. Full complex of flavors caramel toasted malt ripe fruit hop flavor and medium bitter dry finish. Full body and medium carbo. Nice mouthfeel. Smooth, Enticing. I’m not a big fan of DIPA or of Weyerbacher, but this is one of the best DIPAs I’ve had. RollinHard (750), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Aug 11, 2008 Thanks to mcbackus for this. Pours a hazy orange-red with yellow highlights and a creamy off-white head, nice lacing, long lasting....looks excellent by my standard. Aroma is oddly subtle to me for the style. Definitely floral, like a large garden/plantstore, orange juice, grapefruit, and more cranberry than I’ve ever smelled from a IIPA, and a healthy dose of alcohol. Not much malt on the nose, but it’s...subtle. Tastes well balanced with plenty of caramel, brown sugar, cranberry and orange juice, grapefruit, raspberry, and a bit of booze (both in flavor and heat). Finishes remarkably flavorful with as much hop flavor as before, but with a more piny and grassy sting, some woody bitterness, and a bit of booze here as well. Awesome mouthfeel, thick, very very creamy, and slightly sticky, just enough to be nice. Aside from the heat and too subtle aroma, this is quite nice! Took some time to win me over though. cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2008 Nice hearty, hazy orange pour with pretty good head leaving some lacing on the glass. Obvious pine aromas waft off the top as well as some citrus blasts and calming vanilla and caramel scents. Nice piney, hop flavors which are strong but held in check by a toasty malted touch, but still prove to be the dominant attribute. Fairly well balanced and smooth. Good beer
