This one looks really nice. The aroma shows notes of citrus fruits, piney and grapefruit hops, and a nig caramel malt background. The flavor shows much the same with the citrus and piney hops grabbing hold followed strongly by a rich, caramel and toffee malt backbone. The malts add a nice sweet flavor to the profile. Medium bodied and easy drinking with a great mouthfeel. Very easy to drink with a long, grapefruit hop finish that is nice. This is a good dipa that I could drink often, but it is not quite in the elite category. Hangover (765), Atlanta, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Copper pour with a large and frothy eggshell white head. Aroma is simcoe hops of course. Full-bodied, thick and malty mouthfeel. Hops dominate the flavor. I would equate it to rolling up a bunch of leaf Simcoe into a plug and using it like chewing tobacco.. but a LOT easier on the taste buds. Citrusy orange and grapefruit, pine and resinous long into the finish. Personally I love beers that showcase a particular grain or hop, use it exclusively and manage to produce a freaking awesome beer. I bought 6 oz of leaf Simcoe for my homebrews because of this tasty beer! But, you need to be a hophead to appreciate this one... changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Impressive. Pours an amber/brown color with a thick off-white head and by the time I was finished there was lacing all over the glass. Big grapefruit and piney hoppy flavors and a bit of green leaf. Nice crisp hop bitterness. Finishes tart and a little dry. Real solid malt base that thickens this thing up but doesn’t over-do it. Very nice and I can definitely see myself drinking this one often. aracauna (2374), Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2008 Pours a hazed dark amber with a frothy head. The hops in the aroma are just huge. They almost burn the sinuses. There’s a slight creosote lurking under the fruity fresh hop aroma and flavor and the hops cover the malt, although there’s enough there to support the bitterness, just not enough to be easy to pick up over the aggressive hops. matt7215 (956), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Bomber - Poured a very dark and very orange amber in color with a medium white head. Excellent lacing on the glass. Aroma was heavy of citrus and pine hops. Flavor was... Whoa!... a hop "explosion" in my mouth. Really big with large amounts of grapefruit and piney resinous hops. Not to be faulted for its lack of malt structure though... excellent balance... maltiness is present throughout, but it really shows through in the finish, which is also quite bitter and hoppy. One of my favorite IIPAs of all time... a really great beer! unclemattie (2401), Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2008 4pk, 12oz bottle. Copper color. Light tan head. Aroma of a sweet West Coast hop orgasm. Big citrus, pine, and full of resin. Go ahead, take a sip. Kaboom. Powerful hop presence. What a hop character. Full of sticky malt character, hop bitterness is in full attendance. The hop character takes over the entire palate. Rich caramel sweetness on the front of your tongue, then lupulin goodness on the back. Full and sharp. Well balanced and fun to drink. An east coast beer as good as any southern California brew. Now I want a cigar. hughie (3048), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Thanks to Gazza for this wonder. Gold with a white head. Sweet alcoholic apricot aroma with raspberries and piney hops. Taste is resinous (Thanks, mes, for that adjective), fruity, hoppy and strongly bitter. Excellent.
