Commercial Description:
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Bottle pours slightly hazy, pale amber with whitish head. Aroma is lots of pine and awesome fruit punch. Very bitter flavor with a mild sweetness to balance, more pine notes, red fruit. Nice aromatics but the bitterness is too harsh and sticky to be refreshing.

Hazy orangish-copper with a small white head. Hop-fest nose of grapefruit, pine, and very minor sweet fruits, banana and blueberry. The flavor is mainly grapefruit and quite bitter, growing near the finish, but there are some nice wheaty malts and hints of caramel. Soft and foamy with a long aftertaste, there are a lot of nice elements here. Enjoy!

standard golden pour with a decent white head- good lacing though. Aroma is very hoppy and piney, really strong, great ipa on the nose. Flavor is really good- prickly mouthfeel, great hops and citrus, complex development of the flavor from beginning to end. delicious.

Bottle from Liquor Loft in Tallahassee. Poured orange copper tint. Piney citrus hops taste. Very close tasting to say a dogfish IPA. Overall real good brew, would buy it again. Though price is a tad high.

Bottle from Knightly Spirits in MetroWest. Pours a hazy orange with heavy pine aroma. There is citrus, lemon/ grapefruit, too, but the aroma is dominated by pine. The flavor is very pine-y, too, but the finish is slightly bitter, it lets you know that you’re drinking an Imperial IPA, and it lingers, too. Good stuff, but not 90 or Dreadnaught. Great with pizza.

Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Lightly sweet and heavily hopped aroma, grapefruit and pine. Medium body. Very hoppy flavor, again grapefruit and pine. Nice lingering bitterness. This isn’t a bad beer, and I understand why it has such a high score based on how intense the aroma and flavor are. A bit too one sided for me though.

Sampled from my friend on tap at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. The aroma was big and citrus-dominated, with some straw, spice, and banana notes too. An amber-straw color with an off-white head that was thin and foamy with decent cling and retention. The flavor was strongly hops, with citrus and spice the most present, and a bitter effect. The beer started out wet, but had a dry finish. It featured a full body and good levels of carbonation.
