Commercial Description:
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

bottle, perfect off white head that fades to a ring, color is golden orange, nose of citrus and florals, flavor is very good sweet citrus hop flavor with just enough bitterness and bite, sweet bready finish

Courtesy of funknmilla. Pours copper with a thin white head. smells on signature simcoe goodness with some nice pine and crisp dry spicy hints. Tastes slightly bitter and a bit on the swet side (in Weyerbacher fashion). With a resiny finish. Decent.

12oz. Bottle. Coppery orange and slightly cloudy with a medium lacy white head. Nose is strongly citrus oriented with grapefruit and orange peel. Bitterness is the initial flavor, but is balanced nicely by pine and citrus. Body has a mildly creamy texture and is sticky and resinous on the tongue. Beer ends pretty much where it began, lots of hops and a touch of sweetness. Alcohol remains well hidden throughout. Nice to see a IIPA that showcases a single hop.

aroma is wonderful (if you like hops). I had some simcoe hops when I poured this so I did a side-by-side, and the beer smelled better than the hops! Appearance is a little darker and cloudier than I expected. Flavor is remarkably smooth. A very nice balance of hops and malt. A very nice beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a light copper color with a decent head that sticks around for a good long time. Aromas of dank, sticky freshly cut pine trees. Flavors start with aggressive bitterness, then a load of grapefruit and sticky resin. Not much malt flavor- the simcoe hops dominate this one. Somewhat sticky and thick on the palate. An interesting and unique DIPA, but not one I’d drink on a regular basis.

Pours clear orange with off white head. Strong citrus aromas of grapefruit and orange. Big grapefruity flavor with some malt to back it up. Flavor was a litttle disappointing after smelling the great aromas. Medium body with average carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. A good DIPA, but not one of my favorites, There is something about the Weyerbacher beers that just doesn’t appeal to me.

Bottle. Clear copper pour with a cream colored head. Wonderful hop aroma, citrusy and piney like fresh brewed hop coffee. Very dry, very bitter hop flavor is outstanding. Underlying grapefruit taste is nicely matched by some powerful pine. Extraordinary beer.

Bottle via trade from kmweaver. A fantastic feel to this IIPA. Poured a dark copper color with big head, laced down webs. Aroma of citrus, hops and malts. Taste is thick full body simcoe hops. Nice bitterness, goes down not so smooth. Leaves an aftertaste of strong hops and alcohol. Overall a nice IIPA but not one of my favorite.
