| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2008 First had this at the media brewfest at iron hill and then again in bottle form. Perfect for a warm day or a breezy summer night like tonight. Double simcoe is a deep cloudy red amber with a nice head and a beautiful cascade. It has an excellent bouquet full of caramel and citrus notes, with a good mouth feel and full of sweet belgian beer type flavors with a nice hops back. Very tasty and very refreshing. It hides its alcohol well. hershiser2 (905), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 25, 2008 22 oz shared bottle-Clear orange color w/a moderate white head. Full hop aroma. Flavors of citrus & hops up front, but not so thick that you are chewing on it. Had a bit of a bittersweet finish, didn’t overpower you. Full mouthfeel w/o being offensive, like some DIPA’s. This isn’t always my favorite style & I wouldn’t drink it all the time, but this was an enjoyable brew. idbowman82 (62), Painesville, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 24, 2008 Good, but I’m not at all sure I agree with the 99th percentile rating.
It very hoppy an bitter as expected, with extreme citric grapefruit on the front, back, and throughout.
Still, the bitterness was a bit extreme as considered with the rest of the factors--body, complexity, finish, etc. mar (1804), Dallas, Texas, USA
