larsga (2937), Oslo, Norway Nov 5, 2007 Medium shiny offwhite lasting head. Amber body with light carbonation and floating yeast particles. Sugary honeyish grassy citric hoppy aroma with the typical catty simcoe notes. Sweetish malty notes. Dry firm sweet malt and straw taste with medicinal honey notes. Dry medicinal simcoe aftertaste with residual sweetness. Excellent! (0.66l bottle at RBNAG’07.) Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Oct 31, 2007 Updated: Aug 10, 2008Pour is a hazy orange with an off-white head. Very big citrus nose with some malty sweetness as well. Taste is of heavy hops, simcoe is obviously very present. Alcohol is not very easy to detect. Some grapefruit and pine are detectable. Caramel and malts are also there. Good IIPA that drinks well. ScottB (73), Bristow, Virginia, USA Oct 27, 2007 Poured a hazy orange with a small off-white head that dissipated quickly. BIG citrus nose with hints of pineapple and maybe a little peach. Citrus and pine in the mouth with a bitter bite. Medium bodied with a slightly sweet finish. JensenTaster (1585), Denmark Oct 27, 2007 (on bottle) Mørk orange, beige head. Sherry-like maltyness, next-to-no hoparoma, strange. The hops gets more present in the taste, almost gets all that sugar in balance and almost gets complex, almost. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Oct 24, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was thick and light tan with good retention and lacing. There was some seriously thick and tenacious lace on the glass at the end. Aroma was of malty caramel, alcohol, and pineapple. Sweet on the tongue with moderate to assertive hop bitterness throughout of about 6-7 out of 10. The bitterness was tempered somewhat by the malty sweetness, but the teeth of the hops were still there. Caramel, pineapple, alcohol, and flowery hops rounded out the flavor. Pretty good stuff. jimhilt (1664), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Oct 23, 2007 Pours a five+ finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving an excellent lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Grapefruit nose. Flavor is piney grapefruit with hints of sweetness, finish is sweetish but a dry hoppy aftertaste. Better than the usual IPA. $2.60 for a 12oz bottle from Tully’s Beer and Wine Wells, ME. bozizle (6), USA does not count Oct 23, 2007 A wonderfful sweet Simcoe flavor in a high powerd IPA. Wish they would sell this in a six pack and stop this 4 pack nonsence. The flavor is smooth throughout and a decent amount of maltyness comes through for a great balance. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Oct 22, 2007 Tasty single from the bottle shop down the road. After the pour I was greeted with a big aroma of citrus hops and resinous fresh pine scents coupled with a bready malt nose. Thick 1" beige head sits on top of a mellow copper body. Thick bands of lacing stick to the glass as I emptied it. Creamy with a full body, huge puckering bitterness at first. The taste buds adjusted quickly to the hops creating a nice smooth drink for an IIPA. Alcohol is well hidden. The pleasant abundance of Simcoe hops really creates a great flavor profile that is backed up by some serious malts. Grapefruit and lemon along with oily pine flavors. Biscuit and light caramel malts keep the hops in check. Big and hearty IIPA that is very drinkable.
