emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 10, 2007 Pours a peachy orange amber with a medium creamy light orange head. The aroma is sweet, has some light spice, resiny, citrusy, piney. Has a strong bitterness to the flavor, waxy, sweet resiny hops, spicy dry warmth. Delicious . wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Sep 9, 2007 Bottle from kmweaver. Thanks Ken! Pours with a small head with small bubbles that linger in small cloud-like wisps over the amber liquid. Wonderful medium hop aroma, and some melanoidal malt that stands out as soon as you pop the cap. Very, very easy to drink (that’s why I gave it a palate of 5). I find myself taking gulps. Medium body. Pretty interesting, with all the hop aroma and flavor, the bitterness is low. Not mediciny and the grapefruit bitterness is also low. Interesting. Great beer psuCE03 (122), York, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 6, 2007 Nice amber color with a distinct hop aroma. Full of hops but not overwhelming, a nice burst and then a smooth finish. Gotta love those hops theisti (1638), Leawood, Kansas, USA Sep 6, 2007 12 oz bottle from MrBendo. Pour is reddish orange with a nice off white head. Head is very lasting and the carbonation is visible. Aroma of grapefruit citrus and some earthiness. Taste is really bitter (nice!) grapefruit, really very in your face. The middle fades a bit into a nice malt backbone, but the story with this one is the initial rush of grapefruit. There is a real nice sticky resin to the finish. As it warms, there is a unique spice to the nose I can’t quite place. This was a good one. Thanks for this one Todd! yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Sep 5, 2007 Double Simcoe IPA is a jewel-like red amber ale with a big, messy, yellowed off-white head. It is frothy and irregular and won’t let go of the glass. Excellent. I can smell it from across the room. There is something spicy, almost like allspice, grapefruit peel like cascades but softer and more wooden. The aroma is a bit sweet. The silky medium body lightens as it goes. Exquisitely supple; leaves the tongue slick. It’s bitter as all get-out! It’s like grapefruit juice with tree bark. The aftertaste never really comes-- it just keeps going. The malt provides a slightly sour and biscuity backdrop. Bombastic! WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Sep 1, 2007 Draft @ Primo’s in Rockland Maine. Pours Dark amber with a half finger faded tan head. Nose is nice and big with sweet hops. Taste is sweet sticky with rolling hops, very nice and certainly an east coast DIPA. Damn nice DIPA. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Updated: Mar 9, 2008Date: 07/01/2006

The aroma of west coast hops is incredible, deep orange, a small custard head. Flavour is absolutely orange, pinecones, some fabulous malt underpinning this bad boy. Full bodied, very well balanced, extra bitter. Marvellous!
