DrHomolka (726), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 11, 2007 22oz pours dark orange with a large, bubbly, compact head with excellent retention. Aroma is nice and balanced. Hops of the citrus variety. Oranges and peach predominate, though they are subtle. Pleasant. I wish the aroma were a little stronger. It’s a great aroma though a bit more intensity would make it awesome. Perhaps my bottle’s just a bit old, who knows. Bitter, carbonated taste though smooth and refreshing. Nice amount of hops. Medium bodied with a long, bitter finish. A nice IPA. bbbrew (171), Washington DC, USA Aug 8, 2007 draft. appropriately named. darkish orange pour with nice head. tastes of citrus and pine. well banced with malt. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Aug 6, 2007 Updated: Aug 7, 2007Bottle via Footbalm - Thanks! Pours a dirty orange color with a modest white head. Thick lacing. Nose is sweet with citrus and caramel malt, the flavor moves from a malty front into fresh florals and grapefruit. Nice caramel malt sweetness is well in balance. Solid I2PA. hopson (591), Williamsville, New York, USA Aug 6, 2007 draft- huge white head that laces all the way down. Nice piney/floral aroma, but nothing that overwhelms. Sticky, malty mouthfeel. Flavor is its strength. Grapefruit, citrus, and pine. Delicious. Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA Aug 4, 2007 After some of the FFF beers I would have thought nothing can top it. I may be wrong or drunk, but this is a poem of a beer. Wonderful copper orange darkness with a huge head that persists creamily. It’s huge citrus hoppines is deftly balanced with sweet malty flavors and the 9% ABV is imperceptible. I’m on a mission from God to find more of this. I ’ve had it from a bomber and on tap and either way ths is Beervana.
Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador Aug 4, 2007 Thanks to Juancho. Great Pour. Golden color, cloudy with a great head. Citrus at the beginning. One of the best beers in the world barnone! Spectatcular,. rich, hoppy, malty, textured, hazy. just amazing. I love it.
nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 4, 2007 650 mL. Clear dark copper-orange with a huge head that lasts all day. Nose is grapefruit, evergreen, and caramel. Entry is strong sweetened grapefruit and caramel, with bitter grassy herb and dry cereal grain finish. Palate is exceptionally smooth, medium-bodied, and tingly with mostly hops, but also slight alcohol. Jayb0 (750), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Aug 3, 2007 An excellent varietal double IPA. Weyerbacher is distiinguishing themselves as masters of hop utilization, creating fantastic aroma and beers that are hoppy but delicate. Resiny with plenty of citrus, balanced and dangerously drinkable.
