COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Pours a deep, hazy amber with barely any head. Aromas of crisp fruit and yeast. I’d say this beer is a bit different than expecting, but that’s not a bad thing. Big time hop bite, but also has a mellowing malt presence. I like this quite a bit but it’s different.

Tastes like itd been aged in bourbon barrels. Bit on the heavier side for my personal taste for DIPA. Couldnt drink too many of these..and i enjoy some DIPAs

From notes (10/16/15). Pretty straightforward, slightly under-inspired DIPA. Lots of pine and not much fruit from the Simcoe. Not bad, though.

This is a glass of 2003--an amber colored, super bitter, super sweet IPA. It smells like a pine forest complete w/ a damp pad of pine needles and earth underfoot and tastes like hopped malt extract. It is big and syrupy on the palate w/ a bit of alcohol burn to it. This is really typical of everything wrong w/ the giant IPAs of decades past and I’m glad most brewers have moved on.

Bottle. Hazy dark orange with small foamy beige head, strong citrus peel aroma, low carbonation, sweetish start followed by bitter citrus peel taste, thickish body, medium bitter finish. The expiration date had passed, and it felt a bit too bitter. I am not sure whether it was because of that though.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, it seems best before March 4, 2016, oops. Opaque reddish medium brown with small beige head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, lower carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is herbal hops, caramel malt, resin, and bitter finish.

Tap at whole foods Auburn Hills. Pours deep honey spiked with melted caramel. Off white head. Aroma is big pine, resin, tropical pineapple, slight orange and grapefruit biscuit malt, dank hops. Wow, this feels like a West coast double to me. Kinda like a knee deep sorta deal almost. Flavor is pine, resin, malt, sugar sweetness from the high abv, pineapple, grapefruit. Wow, really really good.

Hazy reddish amber pour, smallish thick head. Nose is caramel, pine, vague citrus. Very caramelly sweet, moderate bitterness. Lowish carbonation .

Poured from a bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a creamy off-white foamy head. Very clingy with lots of lacing. Tons of sediment suspended in the glass. Medium citrus and a pine resin aroma. Surprisingly smooth with just a hint of bitterness on the roof of the mouth and at the finish. Very well balanced with a thicker malty flavor masking any harshness or bitterness. Hides the alcohol well. Refreshing and very enjoyable.

Dark amber color with lots of floaters, clearly unfiltered. Nose is malts and faint citrus. Taste is malts, lots of sweetness, some citrus, and maybe a little very faint mango. This one is very similar to Sierra Nevada Hoptinum in look, nose, and taste. Not my favorite dipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours orangish amber with off-white head. Aroma is Malt, Mango and papaya. Taste is sweet malty citrus pine and alcohol up front with a fruity mango/papaya alcohol warmth finish. Pretty good but a little too malty for my personal preferences.
