COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Bottled. Strange hazy colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is flowery hoppy and caramellish. Smooth. Flavour is caramel, "IPA", fruitish and very positively hopped. Smooth and easy to drink. Refreshing. Also some nutty hints after it gets warmer. Hides the 9% very well.

[Bottled at Olivert Twist, Stockholm] Hazy reddish brown, lasting creamy head. Powerful aroma of sweaty grapefruits and lingonberry. Fairly sweet with lots of malt and reasonably soft mouthfeel. Though hop dominated alcohol plays a significant part - lingonberries are strikingly evident. Very bitter finish with plenty of salty licorice and tar. A good one.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2010 2010-03-09, 1½ years old bottle, 6-5-8-5-16=40
Hazy amber color; small head. There is some residual hop aroma, nothing like fresh, with light vanilla and very light chemicals. The flavor is very good: excellent malt and toffee combination, strong body, enough residual sweetness, resiny hops. The final has more hop presence, not only resiny but also sweaty. Not fresh, but very good.

Cloudy amber color; big thick head; nice lace. Beautiful aroma, hoppy, fruity, with sweet resins. Good body strength, powerful malt, sweet, with an extreme but very good hopping, aromatic, fruity (orange peels), resiny; ends with an impression of rhubarb. And of course the final is very long. Excellent.
