COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Cheers JoeMcphee for this bottle. Nice aroma of hops, caramel and fruit. Stained head with a hazy orange/amber appearance. Strong hoppy taste, little tinny, pine cone finish. Settles to a smooth rich fruity syrup with still that bitter grapefruit finish.

An orangebrown beer with a weak and beige head. Aroma is tropical, mangos, pineapples, grapefruits and pine, some fructose. Taste starts with strong bitterness, but it’s balanced with nice/low sweetness, pine, some grapefruits, hint of caramell. The aftertaste is quite dry and there are also even some resin. Almost full bodied, slippery and nice to drink. Very nice DIPA that qives what it promises, strong bitterness and balanced sweetness, no fruits in the taste, but straightforward and piney bitterness.

Pours orange amber with small white foam head. Smells of hops and citrus. Light fruit and strong hop and bitter come through on the taste. Delicious beer. Great for the bitter hop lover.

Poured from a bottle into a dogfish ipa glass. Dark almost hazy Amber pour with a hearty bone white head that laces. aroma isn’t as aggressive as I like in a dipa, but there is a definite hop presence with an earthy grassy finish. Taste is nice and smooth. The hops are the focus for sure, and I can’t stress the mellow earthiness enough. Really nice balance in this beer with the hops and malt. Not exactly sweet or syrupy, but there’s something that ties it all together. Great beer.

AWISLguy (667) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Bottle from Crown Wine & Spirits in Port St. Lucie. Pours orange with an off-white head, some drops of lacing. Aroma has bitter citrus and faintly sweet caramel. Taste is of very bitter grapefruit, as if having the rind, which becomes less of the focus down through the glass. Sticky and a solid malt base, especially later in the glass. The sticky, bitter, bittersweet simcoe is the champ here. Finishes to the bitter side of bittersweet, with some length. Tasty and solid.

Pours amber with yellow white low head Lovely hoppy aromas of tropical and citrusy fruit, caramel malts Great malt base of pale and caramel malts making it a medium to full bodied sweet DIPA that also has a very well balanced bitterness. Of course loaded with hoppyness. Great! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
