COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Holy Hops Batman! This baby i overloaded with those lovely Simcoes. From front to back, top to bottom. Pours a hazy orange with a thick head. Rich flavor throughout with a nice malty sweetness. Excellent IIPA!

Dark amber pour with thin head. Sweet, heavy body. Sipper, borders on barleywine. Good stuff.

Appearance is dreadful, cloudy and unappetizing in color. But the flavor is complex, refreshing and punchy... Citrus notes. --- BeerBuddy personal rating!

12oz bottle at ABV. Pours apricot orange with a thick white head. Aroma has huge notes of pineapple, oranges and grapefruit. Taste is juicy hops, tropical fruits and a slight hint of pine. The hops are nicely balanced against the malts. This was a fairly well baalnced IPA that was definitely drinkable.

Pretty good experience, but I can’t stand the sight of sediment floating around in my beer! Hold this up to a bright light and you will see a turbid mess. Yet, the Double Simcoe smells wonderful and has a nice bite to it. For a DIPA, I actually noticed the malt backbone, which held this thing together. Aesthetically unappealing, but decent brew.

12oz bottle. Pours a murky dark orange color with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma is tons of Simcoe hops! Grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, with some bready malt characteristics. Taste is what I expected....bitter (in a good way). Lots of grapefruit, pine, resin, and some sweet malt.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2013 Poured from a growler. Solid half inch creamy head that leaves a lot of lacing. Long lasting. Alcohol leaves decent legs as the glass swirls. Aroma is muted, perhaps a little yeasty. Not getting the simcoe that I was expecting. Cloudy that doesn’t clear as warmed in the hand. Slight hints of caramel in the after bite followed by a bit hoppiness. Easy drinking. Almost sessionable if it wasn’t for the 9%.

Dark caramel color with a nice cream colored head with spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus, toast, dank, and caramel. Well balanced taste; plenty of good bitterness. Medium body; dry. Nice.

An orangebrown beer with a weak and beige head. Aroma is tropical, mangos, pineapples, grapefruits and pine, some fructose. Taste starts with strong bitterness, but it’s balanced with nice/low sweetness, pine, some grapefruits, hint of caramell. The aftertaste is quite dry and there are also even some resin. Almost full bodied, slippery and nice to drink. Very nice DIPA that qives what it promises, strong bitterness and balanced sweetness, no fruits in the taste, but straightforward and piney bitterness.
