BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA Apr 11, 2008 Orangeish amber with big white foam that sticks.
Sweet malt, caramel and marshmallow notes, citrusy and woodsy hops dominate with a strong dose of alcohol and bit of aspirin.
Sweet fruity and slightly caramelized malt flavors balanced by strong piney and citrus hop bitterness. Orange, lemon, pine, slight caramel. Slightly astringent finish.
Smooth almost creamy feeling, medium body. Pretty drinkable for a 9% DIPA, but still big bitterness from the high alphas.
JoeinUccle (624), Brussels, Belgium Jul 26, 2008 Bottle pours slightly hazy, pale amber with whitish head. Aroma is lots of pine and awesome fruit punch. Very bitter flavor with a mild sweetness to balance, more pine notes, red fruit. Nice aromatics but the bitterness is too harsh and sticky to be refreshing. MrChopin (119), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 Hazy orangish-copper with a small white head. Hop-fest nose of grapefruit, pine, and very minor sweet fruits, banana and blueberry. The flavor is mainly grapefruit and quite bitter, growing near the finish, but there are some nice wheaty malts and hints of caramel. Soft and foamy with a long aftertaste, there are a lot of nice elements here. Enjoy! Jblauvs (113), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jul 26, 2008 light amber pour. white, dissipating pour. incredibly piney, resiny aroma. light, and drinkable. Piney hop profile. craftycarl21 (120), USA Jul 26, 2008 standard golden pour with a decent white head- good lacing though. Aroma is very hoppy and piney, really strong, great ipa on the nose. Flavor is really good- prickly mouthfeel, great hops and citrus, complex development of the flavor from beginning to end. delicious. Sandman2222 (17), Florida, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle from Liquor Loft in Tallahassee. Poured orange copper tint. Piney citrus hops taste. Very close tasting to say a dogfish IPA. Overall real good brew, would buy it again. Though price is a tad high.
