Rich banana bread flavor without being too sweet or overpowering. Very reminiscent of overripe banana in the finish. Better as it warms up.

@ Jungle Jims / Eastgate OH --- Aroma of dark fruit. Cloudy brown, thin rim head, no lace. Taste is strong bready wheat that grows a little in the palate before adding complex dark fruit, molasses, and just a hint of chocolate in the finish. A very heavy, filling brew, decent if one likes strong, dark, high alcohol beers. Otherwise, use care.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, compliments of BMart, poured into a weizen glass. Pours dark brown with light brown highlight at the bottom of the glass and small off-white head which dissipated quickly. Thick body, medium/lower carbonation, syrupy texture, and very little lacing. Aroma is nice rich ripe bananas. Taste is sweet, roasted malt, bread, dark fruit, some banana, some spice, and alcohol. Based on the aroma I expected a much better taste, but too much alcohol.

An OK beer. A little strong for the style in my opinion. Aroma was big and thick. Strong banana and plum notes. Pour was a dark murky brown with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was a little disappointing. Very sweet and cloying with strong bready malt and dark fruits taking the back seat to heavy alcohol and sweet sugar. A little carbonation would’ve made this beer a lot better, but there was hardly any. Close to being flat, all that sugar and sweetness was just too much.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy dark brown color. The head is a two finger khaki shade. Retention is damn excellent for such a big beer, but it’s whipped cream-like texture means it leaves no lacing behind. S: Quite a bit going on here. There’s the typical ’banana and clove’ ester character as expected, but it’s what lies beyond that which make it interesting. Vanilla, cream, nuts, and dark fruits all coalesce on the nose quite well. The alcohol isn’t perfectly concealed, but has a defined character to it (in this case, dark fruits) which makes it much better. T: It starts off very sweet...really sweet, actually. Lots of vanilla cream character to open this one up. The yeast presence is fairly mild, but does provide slight hints of banana near the middle. Some tart dark fruits (think plums) and a slight alcohol burn finish it off. Maybe it’s because I’m drinking this at a lukewarm temperature, but there really isn’t too much alcohol in this. My problem with it is actually this: it’s way too sweet without a significant amount of complexity. Ergo, it kind of tires the palate after, say, 6 oz. M: The feel is wonderfully creamy, lush, and soft. The finish really lingers on the palate, also. It could use more body, though, and maybe a touch more carbonation. At least the alcohol presence on the palate isn’t ridiculously harsh. O: This wasn’t bad at all, in fact it was quite decent. Thank Jebus this was only a 12 oz bottle, though - the thought of finishing 750ml of this doesn’t exactly fill me with joy. You could probably split a bottle of this between two people and everything would be peachy.

Bottle poured into snifter. Pours a hazy iced tea color with a thin beige head that goes away somewhat quickly. Aroma of figs and raisins. Bready taste with fruity astringency. Somewhat off alcohol flavor. Sticky sour aftertaste. Was kinda letdown with this smelling so good.

330 ml bottle in Margate, Fl Pours a dark brown with a very thin tan head. Aroma is like a Belgium Triple. Spices, coco, cloves and alcohol. Taste is bananas, cream, fruit, smoke and berries. Palate is rough but lasting alcohol as well. Tastes much better as it warms. A nice Weizenbock in a truly American way.

12 oz. bottle from my Secret Santa, umich03jm. Thanks man! Rating 3000! Pours a rich dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, bananas, dark bread and fruits. Flavor is phenolic and estery, with some mild roast and booze hints. Full bodied, coating the palate, big creamy mouthfeel. Pretty cool. Nice.
