3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a slightly opaque brown color with a tan head. Some retention and no lace. Aroma was okay, hints of bread and candied-sugar. Some dark fruits and a mild banana note. Alcohol presence was a little over the top. Flavor seemed to be more sweet than anything else. Some wheat notes and some fruity esters, but that were dominated by a almost cloyingly sweet presence. Alcohol was too high. I like higher ABV beers, but with this beer it seemed off.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
An OK beer. A little strong for the style in my opinion. Aroma was big and thick. Strong banana and plum notes. Pour was a dark murky brown with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was a little disappointing. Very sweet and cloying with strong bready malt and dark fruits taking the back seat to heavy alcohol and sweet sugar. A little carbonation would’ve made this beer a lot better, but there was hardly any. Close to being flat, all that sugar and sweetness was just too much.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy dark brown color. The head is a two finger khaki shade. Retention is damn excellent for such a big beer, but it’s whipped cream-like texture means it leaves no lacing behind.
S: Quite a bit going on here. There’s the typical ’banana and clove’ ester character as expected, but it’s what lies beyond that which make it interesting. Vanilla, cream, nuts, and dark fruits all coalesce on the nose quite well. The alcohol isn’t perfectly concealed, but has a defined character to it (in this case, dark fruits) which makes it much better.
T: It starts off very sweet...really sweet, actually. Lots of vanilla cream character to open this one up. The yeast presence is fairly mild, but does provide slight hints of banana near the middle. Some tart dark fruits (think plums) and a slight alcohol burn finish it off. Maybe it’s because I’m drinking this at a lukewarm temperature, but there really isn’t too much alcohol in this. My problem with it is actually this: it’s way too sweet without a significant amount of complexity. Ergo, it kind of tires the palate after, say, 6 oz.
M: The feel is wonderfully creamy, lush, and soft. The finish really lingers on the palate, also. It could use more body, though, and maybe a touch more carbonation. At least the alcohol presence on the palate isn’t ridiculously harsh.
O: This wasn’t bad at all, in fact it was quite decent. Thank Jebus this was only a 12 oz bottle, though - the thought of finishing 750ml of this doesn’t exactly fill me with joy. You could probably split a bottle of this between two people and everything would be peachy.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle poured into snifter. Pours a hazy iced tea color with a thin beige head that goes away somewhat quickly. Aroma of figs and raisins. Bready taste with fruity astringency. Somewhat off alcohol flavor. Sticky sour aftertaste. Was kinda letdown with this smelling so good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle in Margate, Fl Pours a dark brown with a very thin tan head. Aroma is like a Belgium Triple. Spices, coco, cloves and alcohol. Taste is bananas, cream, fruit, smoke and berries. Palate is rough but lasting alcohol as well. Tastes much better as it warms. A nice Weizenbock in a truly American way.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from my Secret Santa, umich03jm. Thanks man! Rating 3000! Pours a rich dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, bananas, dark bread and fruits. Flavor is phenolic and estery, with some mild roast and booze hints. Full bodied, coating the palate, big creamy mouthfeel. Pretty cool. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle from Julio’s. Dark mahogany color with very little head. Great aromas of pumpernickel bread, clove and banana esters. The flavor is like a hybrid between a Belgian Dubbel and a weizenbock. Lots of dark fruit upfront raisins and figs, follow by thick bready pumpernickel notes. The finish has caramel and over ripe banana. Texture is a tad syrupy. For 11% the alcohol is lightly noticeable. Has a nice warming sensation down the throat and belly. Nice.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Murky brown pour, thick, with red hues. Nose is hefe yeast, banana, light bubblegum, and sweet toasted biscuit. Flavor is biscuity/toasted malt with light molasses/brown sugar, cherry, light banana, and yeast. Thick, syrupy and sweet. Residual carmelized sugars, toasted malt, cherry, and plum. Good, but too clunky and sweet to be great.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a ruby brown with a medium head and a lot of sediment at the bottom of the bottle that clouds things up a bit. Aromas are heavy with prunes and cloves but flavor picks up some bubble gum and banana flavors. It is sticky and thick and coats the palate with a brown sugar syrupiness. ABV is extremely well hidden beneath all the sweet and fruity notes.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Heavy dark brown, nearly black with no head. Nose has some sticky sweet earthy toffee, dark caramelized wheat, and a certain boozy yet creamy pseudo chocolaty tone. Flavor is boozy and wheaty with burnt earthy caratoffee tones. Some more pseudo cocoa flavors throughout. Big, but not complex, really.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle sample at a tasting . Thanks Yoav. Hazy brown with a small head. Aroma of sweet fruits, caramel, yeast and acetone. Sweet with dark fruits, caramel and spicy flavors, very alcoholic, a bit artificial. Medium-bodied, heavy stuff.
