COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its rich malty taste, deliciously full body and clean crisp finish, Weyerbacher ESB is truly a delectable libation. Boasting a fragrant hop aroma and glowing with a reddish-amber color, our ESB is arousing yet well balanced. It's the perfect companion for good friends, good food, or just about any occasion.

This is probably one of my least favorite of their beers because there is not much of a punch, just a crisp balanced beer which is appealing but not bitter enough for me. I don’t really like that bready flavor too much either but don’t hate the beer.

This was a nice find, I don’t like bitters but this one was a litte lighter in the bitter category. Pours amber with an off white head. The aroma is full of fruity hops. This flows into the flavor nicely whic is bitter as an ESB should be but not overdone.

Beer pours very attractive light amber color with a totally retained off white head. Aroma is kinda under-whelming. Pretty bland flavor also. Not one of the better ESB, IMO. Thanks Andre’.

Bottled. Fruit gumdrops aroma plus slight factory lagery aroma. Nice amber with right size beige tufty head. Very ’central’ ale flavor’, very full, meaty, smoky, pubby in the mouth. Would make a nice session beer. Head incidentally tastes light, spicy, and quite pleasant which I rarely notice but did attend to here. Good lightly bitter hops. Rather fruity. The factory lager thing in the aroma comes back in the aftertaste of some mild corn.

Bottle: Dark honey, moderate off-white foamy head, settles quickly leaving slight lacing.   Fairly sweet malty nose, slight mash, a bit of wheat toast and pale fruit skin.   Fruity/malty start on this one, also kinda grainy.   Lacks any real sort of bitterness.   Comes across as more of an Amber than an ESB as the bitterness is fairly low, and the maltiness is set higher than your average ESB.   Malty ESB, weak Amber, take your pick.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Quick finish, fairly clean, in fact, very quick finish.   Only lingering sweet & sour malt notes, slight bruised apple/pear.   No real bitterness to left to linger as the bitterness is too subtle   Average.   Would make a great pizza beer tho.   Thanks to northerntimber and kramer17801 for each sending me a bottle!

Kind of sweet. Kind of tart. Like apples or pears. Mmm. Apples and pears. Somewhat drying towards the end. Carbonated mouthfeel. Yummy yum yum.

Very light haze tag along to the auburn color. Decent retentive head and lots of lacing. Nose of metallic musky hops and a bit of acidulated malt and some various stale melanoidins. The flavor is tart with some spoiled hop and very unbalanced malt body. This just really doesn’t do it for me. Harsh insect taste on the finish. Maybe this is one of those cases where the brewer excels at only a certain range of styles.
