3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cracked a bottle of this for the first time in awhile. Poured a dark hazy brown, smelled strongly of honey and surprisingly boozy given its age. Definitely sme brown sugar and a sharp almost brandy-like aftertaste.

2013.01.11 - Weyerbacher Fourteen (Anniversary 2009) - 12oz bottle in goblet. Pours a cloudy caramel or raisin medium dark tan. Almost no carbonation but there is a trace ring that laces a bit and a tiny island cap in center. Holding up to light shows some bubbles feeding from bottom. Aroma is raisin-y sweetness, reminding me of DFH Raison D’Extra. Very close whiff has a bit of starchiness. Candy sugar perhaps. Taste. Hmmm. Hard to describe honestly. I honestly don’t get a definitive "wheat", but it is 3 years old at this point and I don’t drink a lot of wheat stuff. Basically a bit of medicinal alcohol bite with some "tang" on the front end. Doesn’t really change, just fades away. Mouthfeel is pretty dense and full but not really creamy. Mild to little carbonation. Like I said, I don’t really get wheat from this at this point. It’s more like a cross of DFH Raison D’Extra and a barleywine / old ale like North Coast Old Stock Ale to my taste/experience. Aroma 6/10, Appearance 4/5, Taste 7/10, Palate 4/5, Overall 15/20

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando. Slightly murky orange-amber pour with a small soapy head. This one is bizarre, but interesting. Aroma is wheat, sweet caramel, and hot booze. There’s a little honey in here too. Very hot alcohol on the taste - feels in excess of the stated 11.8% - plus some candied sugar and maybe peppermint (or maybe that’s just the booze). Doesn’t look like a beast, but it sure tastes like it.

Shared by jayhawk73. Thanks Jeff!
The beer is hazy and orange hued with an off white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma brings citrus fruits, malt, and alcohol. The beer is full bodied, with a heavy citrus and alcohol presence. The finish lingers for a considerable time, with alcohol presence growing in strength as I progress through the beer. This is a good beer to split. Six ounces is plenty. A solid example of the style, I would have this again.

Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Plours brown with a thin khaki head. Lots of alcohol and dark fruiti on the nose and on the tongue. A bit of an alcohol burn on the finish. Meh!
