Commercial Description:
Foxtrot is an exceedingly complex ale brewed with six types of malt, two hop varieties, and one flavorful yeast strain. This dark, unfiltered concoction has upfront notes of molasses and white pepper, a middle filled with a roastiness reminiscent of iced coffee, and a finish layered with a light fruitiness and the delicate flavor of Saaz hops. Recipe by cellerman, Dan Hitchcock. Dark Biere de Garde.

Bottled. Poured rich cola brown with a dirty beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter, toasted chocolate and caramel notes with a thick dose of unpleasant cleanser accenting.. the off-notes faded a little as it breathed.. not so enticing. The flavor was led by molasses at the core with a touch of coffee.. vanilla and smoke accented.. dry, earthy bitterness over molasses on the sweet-ish finish.. definitely better than the nose, but still sharp at the end. Medium-bodied with a dry, scratchy overall feel on the palate.. sharp malt-inspired sourness too.. didn’t do much for me.
