This is an incredibly intriguing ale is made by aging our Old Heathen Imperial Stout in oak barrels that were used for making fine Kentucky bourbon! The result is an extraordinary, dark, and mysterious stout whose very essence has been enhanced. The aroma is filled with vanilla, cocoa, and roasted coffee beans. This silky-smooth brew has notes of oak, whiskey, roasted barley and vanilla that meld together on the tongue to create an incredible sensation. Heresy is released in February.

12 oz. bottle. Pitch black pour, with a small, rocky, light brown head. The aroma is bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, light smokiness, syrup, and rather significant notes of peat and whiskey. The flavor is very sweet, with some light roasted bitterness and a note of sourness in the finish. Heavy body, syrupy, and a little chalky. The finish is long, sweet, and sticky, with a lot of whiskey warming. Overall, this is a good stout, made significantly better with the application of whiskey barrels.

Deep oily black thin slick head that sticks to glass. Aromas of bourbon, dark chocolate, oak, vanilla. Very sweet on the palate, caramelized sugar almost milk stoutish. First beer by Weyerbacher, nicely done.

Pours black brown with almost effervescent head that dissipates quickly. Smells of chocolate and whiskey. Very sweet chocolate with cinnamon finish. Whisky prevails through thin mouth feel. Good sipper but not sure if want more than one. Almost too sweet. And carbonation throws it off. Want to age one for a year and see what happens

Bottle, black beer, walnut colored head fades. Aroma vanilla and oak, bourbon, molasses, dried plums, cherries, toasted barley and coffee. Taste is molasses, vanilla and oak, with a faint red wine like astringency, coffee, bourbon. Palate is rich and thick, carbonation subdued. This is a nice dry roasty BA stout, with all that goes with that, and it’s still easily drinkable. Excellent.

12oz bottle. Pours black with a foamy tan head. Aroma is of malt, chocolate, wood, dark fruit, and vanilla. The first few sips were all wood. There is a lot of dark fruit and chocolate, with a nice malt base. You can definitely taste the alcohol. Mouthfeel is light and sticky. Body is definitely on the light side. It’s decent.

Pours an opaque black with two fingers of khaki head with decent lacing. Aroma of bourbon and sweet vanilla that mimic a bit of banana and a hint of umami and mild roast. Nice blend of roast, coffee, bourbon and mild vanilla with a bit of dark cherry and plum. Finishes semi dry with a bit of roast and alcohol warmth. Medium/full body with moderate/high carbonation. Very well blended flavors that are not over the top like many barrel aged stouts.
