2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Botella de 355ml. Vaso Tumbler. Decepcionante.
355ml bottle. Tumbler glass. Revisited on agt´12. Dark brown color. Tan froth creates a creamy, quickly dissipated crown. Burnt & roasted aromas, hints of chocolate, tartar berries & alcohol notes to the nose. Touches of chocolate, berries & Bourbon at first sip follow by some roasted maltiness. Full & viscous body. Medium to high carbonation. Oily to watery texture in the middle makes tartiness to blow up malts. Helpfully it doesn´t linger into the slightly hoppy & sweet malty finish. Warming alcohol on the aftertaste. Dissapointed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear black body under a small frothy dark brown head that faded to a thin wispy covering. The aroma is heavy on the roast, chocolate, and burnt caramel. Lighter notes of vanilla, bourbon, alcohol, maybe even a hint of smokiness. The flavor is not quite as intense as I remember it being, it’s been years since I’ve had one of these. The roast doesn’t seem quite as intense, and the bourbon is fairly well restrained, making it quite a more easy drinking than I was expecting. The malt is a bit de-emphasized in favor of a little more barrel character, which is mostly vanilla and oak. Fairly well hidden alcohol, but there’s a bit of warmth on the finish. Not quite the depth and complexity I remember, but it has been a really long time. Medium to full bodied with a slightly clingy and sticky finish. Light soft carbonation. Doesn’t taste quite as good as my memory recalls.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black, with a huge mocha head. Aroma roasty and strongly alcoholic. Chalk, and dark fruit notes. Roast and alcohol carry through to taste as well, with chalk and ash showing in palate, along with warming feeling down throat. The influence of the whisky barrel is very clear compared with the regular version, and helps give more substance to the beer.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Is this really an imperial stout? I got barleywine in the tast. Pours dark brown with foamy tan head. Aroma of vanilla, sugar, and tons of sweet malts. Taste of booze and overly sweet. Def more like a barleywine for me than a stout. Was really let down.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark brown with light brown head fading to a ring leaving decent lacing. Aroma is sweet and rich with bourbon. Taste as it warms is a bit too bitter with coffee. Not the best bourbon barrel stout I’ve had at all.
