2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Botella de 355ml. Vaso Tumbler. Decepcionante.
355ml bottle. Tumbler glass. Revisited on agt´12. Dark brown color. Tan froth creates a creamy, quickly dissipated crown. Burnt & roasted aromas, hints of chocolate, tartar berries & alcohol notes to the nose. Touches of chocolate, berries & Bourbon at first sip follow by some roasted maltiness. Full & viscous body. Medium to high carbonation. Oily to watery texture in the middle makes tartiness to blow up malts. Helpfully it doesn´t linger into the slightly hoppy & sweet malty finish. Warming alcohol on the aftertaste. Dissapointed.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark, dark brown with very thin head - holding up to light there is almost a cherry hue in streaks. Wonderful nose - vanilla, coffee, wood. Taste was actually less complex than the nose - a little disappointing. There is some vanilla, a drop of bourbon, and some bitterness on the finish, but I found this a bit simple and thin for an imperial stout. It is good and pretty easy to drink (for an imperial stout) - but there are better ones out there (e.g., Great Divide)

12 ounce bottle from wchesser. Deep black pour with a classic tan head that has good retention. Roasted aromas with light vanilla. Later bourbon emerges. Wood flavor with roasted notes. Cocoa is dry rather than milk chocolate. Some acid and citrus hops in the background. Bourbon flavors grow mid way through but are not over powering at all. Somehow a hint of spice gets in at the finish. The wood, cocoa, roast, and bourbon all balance out well with room for a few subtleties that come through.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft to taster. Looks good; a semi-opaque dark cola with beige lacing. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, roast, oak, and bourbon. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced, with a thin, average (at best) mouthfeel. Eh.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is dark smokey whiskey and oak. The taste is Malty sweet up front followed by an intense smokey bitterness that is accented by the oak aged whiskey barrels. Very dark and robust with a noticeable alcohol burn in the finish. Good on a special occasion.

Bottled Jan, 2012
Black, little ring of tan foam about the beer. Smells like licorice, blackberry, malt, graham, some toasted oats, and a touch of oak. Nice flavor, lots of roasted and toasted malts, some raisin, plum, oats, oak, licorice, booze and molasses. Medium on full bodied with a tight, moderate carb and a semi dry finish. It’s a decent beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Moderate to heavy toasted and dark chocolate, light resin and meat for the hops and yeast, with notes of wood, smoke, toffee, vanilla, cola and whiskey. Head is small, fizzy/frothy, light brown with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is very dark brown.Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately bittersweet. Palate is medium to full, slick, with a soft carbonation and a moderately alcoholic and dry finish. Nice Imperial Stout, a bit boozy, but that just makes it more of a warming beer.
