I was waiting for the citus notes there is some but the pine. WOW. Pours amber in color with med head , the head leaves the glass pretty quick. This is a great beer. Drink up good job guys. dagimp (113), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 7, 2009 From a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours dark golden with an inch of thick foam. Minor but noticable lacing on the glass. Smell is of grapefruity hops. Mouthfeel is dead on, not too light but not too syrupy either. This beer is the most grapefruity hopped beer I’ve ever tasted. Usually there’s some pine or lemon or other citrus flavors mixed in, but this beer is straight grapefruit. There is malt that backs up the grapefruit hops but it’s just there for the mouthfeel and doesn’t come in for the taste. This is a very good beer. It’s got that good IPA hoppy skunk to it. The best way to describe it is half way between an IPA and an IIPA; call it an IPA+ with an entire grapefruit crammed in each bottle. Can’t wait to try the Double Simcoe! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2009 Great mid-range color and foam! Nose closed in at first but yields hop aroma as it warms - but not intensely. Mouthfeel is fine as is malt balance (but on the lighter side). Pleasant and consumable but not my favorite style of IPA - I like ’em bigger and hoppier! sneagrams3 (1738), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Layer and ring of off-white head. Mild aromas with hints of honey, bitter roots and spices. Light to medium bodied with mild hops. Bitter acidity. Caramel malts, but nothing to really back it up. Nothing special. fata2683 (860), Panama City, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 bottle, pours carmel with a tall off white head. Strong hop resin and pine aroma. Nice sweet carmel malt balanced with a piney hot hop character that ends nice and dry. Very easy to drink and I really like the malt/hop contrast. coldbrewky (717), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Draft at the Newtown beer festival. Hops are abundant (duh) and the moderate golden amber does look quite vibrant in the little plastic mug. Citric hops overburden the malt body and give an edgy finish. Ran witht eh old heathen for a few to balance out the pallate before moving on. Snoop59 (71), Penn Run, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 19, 2009 12 oz. Bottle courtesy of Naka. Pours a hazy amber-orange with an average, frothy off-white head that lasts throughout and leaves excellent lacing. A moderate citrus hop aroma coupled with a soft buscuity malt. Flavor is quite hoppy with lots of citrus and pine. Balanced nicely by the sweet malty backbone. Nice mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Bitter, dry finish.
