BiddleBrau (303), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Sep 25, 2008 Pours amber with a yellow head. Sweet and floral hops i nthe nose. Prickly carbonation with a slight hop bite and undertones of caramel malt. tgncc (797), Bellmore, New York, USA Sep 24, 2008 The aroma is hoppy to be sure, an earthy, piney sort of hoppyness. The appearance is an attractive ruby red, with a persistent white head. the flavor is bitter hops, balanced out by malts, imparting a chocolate and toffee flavor. The finish has a nice lingering burn of citrusy hop flavors. Good IPA overall. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Sep 20, 2008 Overpoweringly bitter, and not in a good way. There is no balance to the hops, mostly straight bitter with little hop profile/aroma to balance it. Its monodimensional, and despite the bitterness, a bit boring. Taxing to finish. ratman197 (3141), Arvada, Colorado, USA Sep 18, 2008 Bottle poured a hazy copper with a small lingering ivory head. Artomas of carmel, earthiness, pine and grapefruit rind. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, pine and grapefruit with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish. pfs (3), USA does not count Sep 15, 2008 Awesome. I think I can detect my favorite hop, Chinooks, somewhere in the bitterness.. somewhat piney, and it’s not overpowering in this brew. A lot of initial spiciness giving way to mostly citrus hops. Decent balance of sweetness to bitterness. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Sep 15, 2008 (Bottle). Very aromatic, with citrus and mint. Deep amber with a thin creamy head. Flavor is puckering hopsy, with lingering bitterness that gets your attention unmistakably. Bracing and dramatic, an in-your-face IPA. Sparky27 (1567), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 15, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Daknole. Pours a clear medium amber with one finger off white headand moderate lacing. Nose is light floral and citrus hops with a sweet malt background. Taste is caramel and ripe citrus up front with tart yellow grapefruit dominating the finish. The bitterness sticks around for quite awhile. Medium mouth feel. Not bad. Thanks Dakine. Chipper (181), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 3, 2008 Amber with a moderate head. Hops and a little spice aroma. A little sweet but nice and smooth. Another nice product from them.
