bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Aug 26, 2009 Bottle from Secret Santa. Orange color. Pineapple, raspberry and a touch of oily hops in the aroma. Firm oily earthy hopbitter flavor with plastic notes, pushing the fruitiness to the far background, and lingering on in the long aftertaste. coyotehunter (542), , Michigan, USA Aug 24, 2009 Another good beer from Weyerbacher. Its not the greatest but still better than many. Pours an orangey color with a nice head about a finger high. Smells mostly of cascades to me, maybe some amarillo..nice and piney with some soap thrown in. Drinks mostly like it smells, with a touch of lemon and grass, but has a somewhat thin mouthfeel to it. Still, not bad. Sonicdescent (374), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2009 Pours a very nice iced tea looking golden and thick. Little head but nicely laced for what their was. Smells unusually weak with a very light citrus scent, closely resembling lemon. Taste is much better though, it is hoppy but balanced, not beating you over the face with bitterness. Mouthfeel is good and this is absolutely sessionable. DeadGirl (192), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Aug 22, 2009 On tap at Roxy’s (West Palm, FL): Admittedly not the best IPA I’ve had...but it certainly does the job. Citrusy, malted sweetness going on there. And pine- big time. Weyerbacher’s consistant with their beers. It’s good. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Aug 20, 2009 Clear orange with a foamy head. Light woodsy aroma, with some citrus notes. Very mellow, some bitter grapefruit notes, with a nice bitter dry finish. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 14, 2009 from notes: Bottle. Poured a hazy orange color with a medium off white head. Aroma is huge hops with some malt sweetness and some wood. Taste is citrus hops with some caramel and malt sweetness towards the end. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of grassy hops and caramel malt. Flavor of bitter hops initially and some sweet malt and citrus in the finish. Somewhat sweet and weaing as you continue to drink. Its a decent IPA for sure, but pretty basic/bland overall.
7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5) fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 7, 2009 Happen to be drinking this as I’m entering some backlog, so it shall be #1300! Whoo! Aroma of floral hops, honey, earth, fresh bread, some orange-red fruit. Flavor balanced between bitter hops and the bready malt. Pretty tasty, but pales in comparison to the Alpha King I just had and perhaps is suffering for it in this rating.
