RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA Dec 11, 2005 The smell of hops overwhelms the nose. This beer is bronze in color and offers a medium head. The taste is all hops and nothing else. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2005 Cloudy orange color with a fully diminishing white head. Citrus hops aroma and a grapefruit bitter taste. GreenDragon (213), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2005 Pours a golden color with no head and a moderately strong aroma of citric hops. Bitter with a very hoppy ending with citric and grapefruit hops. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 19, 2005 Bottle (12oz). Poured murky deep orange with an average fizzy-foamy lasting off-white head. Rich, balanced between earthy light roast malt and oily, resiny hops. Lots of hops. Taste is very strongly grapefruit-bitter - it builds and builds, and the almost sweet roast malt takes a back seat. Very creamy mouthfeel, very tingly. This is really good, but not for the hop-fearing crowd. The hops stay with you quite a while. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 15, 2005 Courtesy of Firemoose15

Very aromatic. Some malt sweetness and lots of hop notes that go from piney to citrusy. Cloudy orange/brown color with a huge, fluffy white head. Loads od hops in the fore. Graprefruit rind and a bitterness that is obviously from hops, but not something I can specifically peg. Little malt base underneath. Good mouthfeel, but the overall feel fo the beer is somewhat thinnish. ryan (1774), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Nov 5, 2005 Updated: Jun 13, 2006Old recipe: Pours nice amber with big pillowy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, orange with some musty, soapy notes. Flavor is nice blend of hops, pine, grapefruit, eathy and musty. The malt is not showcased, but appears in the middle, just before the dry bitter finish. Medium-bodied, chewy texture.
New recipe: Dark amber body with creamy, off-white head. Mostly lasting, nice lacing. The aroma is cirtus with some biscuit and a touch of caramel. The flavor is grapefruit, pine, some caramel and biscuits. Mild soapiness. The mouthfeel is smooth. Finish is slightly dry and bitter. Not much different than I remember, perhaps a touch more refined.
altkencru (143), USA Oct 31, 2005 If you like hops this is the beer for you. This is my reference, and not many come close. Be sure to check bottom for "crystallization", and if you see it don’t buy it. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 29, 2005 12 oz bottle-pours a rich, light tan head with clear amber color.
