ehhdayton (1113), USA Aug 12, 2005 Pours a dark copper color with a small light brown head. A light floral aroma, not as strong as I expected. Hop flavor is clearly present but the bitterness is not overwhelming. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 11, 2005 pours hazy copper with a small white head, aromas of citrus, malt, and earthy hops, taste was bitter hoppiness up front, malt flavor, and followed by sweetness, not a bad brew, very drinkable. hiphops (280), caldwell, New Jersey, USA Aug 9, 2005 this is a decent first step ipa. light bitterness althroughout with a slightly sweeter finish. not very complex though a bit watery. pick up hop devil instead. garrison (455), Cin. city, Ohio, USA Aug 3, 2005 From a bottle (from a six pack my loving girlfriend purchased for me on my birthday) - Thiis one poured a dark amber liquid with a spicey aroma and a lasting, fine-bubbled white head. Tastewise, it was a hops-heavy delight, with noticeable piney and citrus-like untertones... a very decent IPA, in other words! mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 30, 2005 bottle. hazy copper body with a small creamy white head and sticky lace. good hop presence without being over the top, lots of malt nose, bread, and caramel. sweet hoppy start with a sharp piney finish. falls short on balance and maybe a little bit on the simple side. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2005 Deep golden-orange body with a faint haze and a uniform sudsy grayish-white head that completely faded. Aroma has an element of cinnamon spice with some light toasted malt. Nice blend of malt and hop varieties. Just lightly sweet. Spicy, almost peppery, malty flavor. Tastes like a mouthfull of pine needles. Resinous bitterness and mouthfeel but in an appealing way. Decent IPA. iwantalambic (1385), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 18, 2005 12 oz bottle: deeply hazy apricot. Sweet, moldy hop aroma with wet lemon grass and cantaloupe and wet woody. Flavours are a pleasant surprise: sweet oak, fresh hop cones, pine needles, orange flavoured icing, and gritty toasted grains. Lingering bitterness laced with vanilla and coconut. This one kind of took me by surprise: the aroma was less than pleasing, but the flavours mixed well the different hops aren’t overpowering and offer a complex bed for the minimal malty presence. Not too bad. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 18, 2005 Out of a bottle, citric and piney. Poured orange with a decent foamy head. Taste was all hops, citrus, grapefruity and piney, also a quick hint of a toasted malt. Palate was crisp and full. Overall good but not my favorite from Weyerbacher.
