jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Jun 19, 2005 12oz. bottle. Cloudy orange/amber color with a large white soapy head. Fruity hop aroma(orange and grapefruit) with some sweet malt aroma in the background. Flavor was mildly sweet at first sip before turning quite bitter. Kind of one dimensional with the hop flavor dominating. Metallic aftertaste. dohastmich (6), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Jun 12, 2005 one of the few beers from this brewery i enjoy. It is quite cloudy with a white head.
A nice amount of hops without the overdoing it like an IPA Arayaga2 (933), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 10, 2005 Updated: Nov 22, 2007Cloudy copper, mostly opaque, with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, as is taste. Definite tangeriney grapefruity flavor ebbs and flows with stabbing hoppiness. A decent IPA, but not quite enough alcohol for me. (edit) AMAZING on draft. Pliny-like aroma and taste- sweet floral nectar quite unlike its bottled counterpart. $20/pitcher mcg’s r464 (285), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 10, 2005 A nice golden amber color with a yellowish head that fades quickly. A distinct hoppiness that is very complex and sharp but not overpowering. There is some citrusy fruitiness that keeps it refreshing. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Jun 7, 2005 Cloudy Dark Orange Coloring with Off White Ring/Skin. Light Fruit, Hops Aroma. Multiple Hops Notes..One of Which is Very Dry and Unusual..Intriguing and Very Characterable IPA tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 6, 2005 Floral, lime, orange, pine, catty, sweaty, resinous hop nose that I associate with high alpha acid hops (chinook?) with some very sweet underlying malt character. Opaque orange-tan with shy but lasting, large-bubbled tan head that leaves some lacing. Harsh hop flavour assaults the tongue - perhaps seven is too many varieties of hops for one beer? Citrus lime/lemon, resiny pine notes dominate the unidimensional hop onslaught. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation and clean, refreshing mouthfeel. Bottle (trade, Feb. 2005) sampled with Olivier MTL. Thanks, hopscotch!
badgerben (3586), Blaine, Minnesota, USA May 31, 2005 Dark gold color with a thin head. Very hoppy and citrus laden aroma. Good malty start with a slight hit of pine and spice in the taste. It wasn’t nearly as much of a hops blast as I was expecting; a nice surprise. OlivierMTL (712), Montréal, Quebec, Canada May 29, 2005 Couleur ambrée aux reflets orangés, mi-opaques.
