Beer is a hazy medium-caramel color with an average-sized, white, frothy, mostly, slowly diminishing head. The aroma is certainly a picture of hop diversity, but it’s not revolutionary. It’s malty with moderate notes of toasty grain, cookie and caramel, light note of toasted bread crust; Hoppy with moderate-to-heavy notes of resin/pine, cedar, lemon zest, dried apricot and instant tea; Yeasty with a moderate note of sharp cheese (pops with a swirl) and traces of dough and sweat. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately-to-heavily bitter with a long, heavily bitter/moderately grippy, lightly sweet, lightly astringent finish. The palate is sexy: body is medium, the texture is slippery satin-backed velvet and the carbonation is lively. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA

Aroma of spicy, floral, and citrus hops with sweet malt and caramel in the background. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Very good. It is a different label from the one pictured at RateBeer. When I first tried this stuff, it was a real eye-opener, and I went looking around for it. it has a lesser impact on me now, but it is still good. There is a foamy head, a nice aroma, and a rich, mellow blend of hop flavors. It is very nice when it is fresh on tap at a good pub - loads of fresh, juicy hops! Flavor Hops, who would have guessed? A good beer for this style. Chipper (195), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2009 12oz bottle from Trinity Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Pours a clear, red-brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma is really nice pine, citrus, and hops. Favor is mostly pine and some grapefruit...not overly bitter. Medium mouthfeel...good bitter aftertaste. This is a perfect session beer...A really solid IPA. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2007 Pours a nice deep yellow color with a thin white head of some very tiny bubbles. Smells hop spicy and citrusy.
Tastes hoppy and grassy up front and I get a bit of tobacco on the finish for some reason. It’s nice, it adds a little more depth to the kind of standard super hoppy IPA. Not too thick, not too thin. Great carbonation, nice and crisp with the bitterness. It’s good, not my favorite super hoppy IPA, but good. It would probably wreck your palate after a while though. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2008 This is very hoppy as you would image. A nice amber color on pour into a tulip glass from the bottle. A great head that sticks a round with some really nice lacing. Hop heavy as I said before. tastes a bit like you put a very bitter pine tree in your mouth - in a good way. I like it but not up there with the great hop monsters but better than half way.
