Floral, grapefruity, fruity aroma. The taste is outstanding. Off the bat I taste grapefruit and lots of it. Which is not a bad thing to me. A great IPA by a great brewery. I have yet to be disappointed by one of there IPAs. I think I’ll have another!! Trooper11 (467), Suffolk, Virginia, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 4, 2006 Deep amber color. Small foamy head without a lot of bubbles. Nice hops aroma. That is all I smell, beautiful delicious hops. Full bodied, thick, heavy hops flavor. This is all hops and a great combination. Very complimentary. Smooth, gently warming sensation, with a bit of a grapefruit aftertaste. michael-pollack (2763), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

I prefered the hoppier, slightly unbalanced version, though it is still a good beer. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

Rich amber colour. Good head retention. Earthy, peppery nose w/ floral hints. Thick, sticky, resiny feel. Taste: earthy, spicy, peppery, yet fruity ( citrus?). Quite a complex beer. Nicely balanced w/ a lingering, hoppy finsih.

Hops hit you on first sip, can taste a little malt, but it's mostly hops. Body is medium and well built. Not too carbonated, either, which is good.Right up my alley, being a big hophead. Would definitley buy again. PhillyBeer2112 (2097), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 13, 2000 This is wonderful, and a hophead’s (that’d be me) delight.
The mix of hops creates a floral and perfumy aroma,
and a nicely bitter and complex flavor. The mix
of 7 different hops keeps it interesting as
opposed to being just plain bitter. LordHedgehog (144), Westminster, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2003 I rate the aroma as an eight, on the assumption that you like the smell of hops. My wife recoiled in fear from the aroma. The beer pours to a nice copper tone, lighter than many IPA's. The flavor is surprisingly not dominated by the hops -- the malt shows firmly through the almost excessive hopping, resulting in a pleasantly balanced beer. Unlike many superlative brews, this one is done right, and definately worth drinking.
