surffisher (183), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 3, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange amber with a modest white head. Aroma of sweet malts and lots of spicy, citrusy hops. Flavor is balanced but on the dry side; with a good malt backbone and tart citrus hops but surprisingly not overly hopped. Medium bodied, with moderate prickly carbonation. Solid IPA, but not particularly noteworthy. HOPSHUNTER (225), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2009 Draft. Poured a clear amber color with an off-white head. Nose is dominated by green hops, some spice notes are also present. Medium bodied with great carbonation. This one really surprised me, I wasn’t expecting it to be so hoppy, I love it. Unbalanced, unrefined and perfect for hop heads like myself. Dry hoppy finish. Great beer I’ll have to try it in a bottle. blutt59 (1638), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 1, 2009 bottle, via trade with imadeadguy, deep orange with good white foam and lace, aroma has some nice malty BW notes, flavor is more metallic and somewhat bland esjaygee (1260), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 20, 2009 Muddy copper with a medium crown that gives way quickly into a small layer atop the beer that leaves nominal splatters of lace as I consume it. Aroma of hops of multiple varieties – citrus, floral and pine with caramel and toffee on the malt side. A touch of skunkiness comes through as well. Taste of grapefruit up front followed by the balancing act of crystal malt eventually leading back to some citrus hops and a moderate bitter finish. A bit of spicy and grassy hops plus pineapple come through as it warms. dkachur (1909), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 19, 2009 Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA after closing. Thanks Marc! Pours a hazy brone color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is toffee and citrus hop notes. Taste is bitter leafy hops with light citrus and toffee. Medium bodied. ljay6880 (68), , Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2009 12 OZ bottle served in a clear pint glass. Poured a golden color with about an inch of white lacey head. Smell is hops and light floral. Taste is a slightly mild IPA. I enjoyed this IPA more then most. beerandIT (150), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 12, 2009 Pours darker golden amber with about half an inch of head. Head retention is okay so far. Nice carbonation. I can tell this is more of an east coast ipa as I am getting a nice front forward hop bite on the palate, that with this one seems to be rather even the whole way through. Kind of leaves the scene but reminds you that you drank it. On the nose I get Hops with that floral aroma coming through there, some slight slight citrus and a bit of malt that I can detect in there as well. I like this one, not great but a nice little IPA from my side of the country. shawnm213 (545), South Bend, Indiana, USA Jun 12, 2009 pours a hazy amber with a nice off white head. leaves some nice lace on the glass. notes of caramel, sweet malts, booze, some floral hops. do seem nice
