COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with Pumpkin and Spices(Cinnamon,Nutmeg,Cardamom,Cloves). This 8.0% ABV pumpkin ale is heartier, spicier, and more caramelly and pumpkiny than its faint brethren! Perfect finisher on a cool autumn night, or match it up with a slice of pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream. If you don't agree this is the mother of all pumpkin ales, then you just don't like mothers!

Bottle. The pour was a cloudy medium brown with a slight orange hue and an average sized (1-2 finger) off white creamy head that was mostly diminishing and had fair lacing. The aroma had a strong cinnamon and nutmeg scent right off with a nice dark caramel malt, a sweet doughy yeast, a hint of allspice, a decent pumpkin presence and a mild alcohol tinge. The taste was fabulously sweet and malty with notes of nutmeg and cinnamon at first, then progressed with a nice dose of pumpkin, a smidgen of allspice and had a smooth alcohol finish. The flavor was left hanging on the taste buds for a nice long time allowing one to fully enjoy the awesome complexity of this brew. Mouthfeel was medium to full in body, very creamy in texture and had a nice prickly carbonation. Overall an extremely satisfying brew that had all the flavors blending so well that any alcohol presence was almost non existent. It had a drinkability that was so appealing that it left you wanting more.

Bottle. A- Nutmeg, Cinnamon, holiday spices. A- Brown color, murky liquid, minimal head. T- Nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, spices, gourds. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, unbalanced finish. O- Tons of spice and not much pumpkin. Really unbalanced and I really did expect better. Pretty gross actually but not totally putrid.

Draught @ Albion. Faintly cloudy dark orange-copper with small frithy beige head, strong pumpkin aroma, sweet caramel-pumpkin taste with cinnamon and cloves, low carbonation, smooth body, medium sweet finish with pumpkin aftertaste. Very nice pumpkin ale.

Bottle. Pours a a fairly unclear amber brown beer with a small, quickly disappearing white head on top. Aroma of cinnamon, pumpkin spices, nutmeg and other herbal notes. Flavor is rather sweet, cinnamon faded a bit to the background, making way for other spices, malty sweetness and some boozy notes. Really rich, full and has a long sweet aftertaste. Nice one.

Bottle @ RVA 22nd. Floaties in amber color with light head. Nice spiced aroma- not over done. Actually does taste a little pumpkiny under the spice.

BigBeer45 (1371) - Michigan, USA - OCT 18, 2015
Sampled from a bottle, this beer had a hazy medium to dark brown pour with a bit of red mixed in, and the pour made a thin layer of faint off-white bubbles that thinned out to a small ring, it had a big spice aroma, cinnamon, ginger, pepper, nutmeg, some malt and a little bread, malt and bread sweetness, the pumpkin /vegetable was in the background, the flavors were spices with toasted malt and bread, a little fruit, and malt sweetness, the finish had a small spice and alcohol bitterness, the mouth feel was more than medium, it coated the tongue a bit, it was a little creamy and had average carbonation, a big spice beer with not much pumpkin or vegetable in this beer, the flavor was not as spicy as I was expecting with the amount of spice on the nose, but it was pretty much all spice and malt in the flavor, very little to no pumpkin, not a beer I would want to try again.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber color with almost no head. Smells of spice. No lacing. The taste is sour and spicy with a bad aftertaste from the spice. I didn’t detect any pumpkin. I didn’t like this one.

I had this at a Rock music festival a month ago on tap. My impression was that there was more spice, mint and herbs than pumpkin. I didn’t really get pumpkin. It also had a lot of alcohol taste to it. Maybe it was that particular keg, but it was a very aggressive tasting beer.

Pours a copper color with a thin white head that quickly disappears. Aroma is pumpkin, caramel, and spices, such as nutmeg and allspice. Flavor is dominated by the spices, with cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg dominating. Slightly sweet, with a lightly bitter finish. Enjoyable, if a bit too heavy on the spices.

Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI, USA via Plum Market. Hazy amber orange. Heavy clove aroma, faint ginger. Earthy flavor, more spice and a long almost syrupy finish.
