Bottle. Pours a very cloudy dark amber with almost no head. Nose is strongly of alcohol with some woody wine notes. Taste is similar with some additional sourness to it. Good brew.

On tap for $3 a glass. Very hazy caramel color. Sweet slightly boozy bourbon aroma. Taste was very sweet. Pretty tasty. Good amount of sweet grain comes through. Lots of booze taste. Reminds me of a small version of Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine.

So I’m crusin’ my local Growler bar looking for something special. My wondering eyes fall upon this beauty. The name and alcohol content grabbed my attention. But after sampling I found the brew a smooth and silky tasting. The color is rich brown and it has no lingering after taste. The Bareleywine blend is perfect. I would highly recommend. I brought home the 64oz. Growler and had no regrets.

Tap...faint boozy aroma is followed by a pleasant sweet cherry and vanilla taste. However, this stuff is fairly one dimensional, flat, and cloying on the finish. One and done.

Bottle. Nice bourbon vanilla smell on a dark brown translucent pour with weak diminishing head. As a barleywine fairly anonymous, estery and fruity with that musty old house character. But those barrel notes add a nice dimension. Needs a bit more body. Buzzy and boozy but not overly so.

Not bad. A bit sweet for my taste. Way to much oak imo. No real bourbon flavor, but maybe that is what made it so sweat. I can finish a 12, but barley. Beer needs to be cleared. Omg it is disgustingly cloudy. Not bad when you didn't pay for it. Would never bug one myself though ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sweet alcohol, caramel, oak & bourbon on the aroma. Appearance is a cloudy brown with an off white head with low head retention. Flavor is malty, candy like sweet. Notes of licorice and dried plums. Oak is prevalent throughout the taste. Mouthfeel is full with medium carbonation. Overall, it's decent. Too sweet for my taste though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy reddish brown color with no head or lacing. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, and a little bourbon. Tastes of bourbon with caramel under tones. A nice winter drink

Pours a murky cola brown with a one finger tan head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of dark fruits, caramel, bready malts, bourbon, vanilla, oak, and some light booze. Taste is similar to the aroma with the addition of of some tofee and butterscotch notes and maybe just a tad more booze. Has a medium-full body with a pretty creamy mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, warming, long lingering, slighty hot finish. Overall, a well crafted BA Barleywine that Is a great after dinner sipper.

Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. 2013 vintage. Pours an ominous caramel brown, viscous-looking, with lots of particulate. Aroma lovely, citrus, resin, caramel. Body slightly dry, sweet, but still slightly hot, some vanilla, tannic notes.

12oz bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Appearance: Brownish-amber. Mostly opaque because of the color, but there is some transparency. Little to no head. Aroma: Bourbon (though less pronounced that I was hoping for), vanilla, oak, dark fruits. Taste: mildly sweet upfront. Palate: Full body. Carbonation gives a bit of a sharp edge to the finish. Flavor lasts medium length. Overall: Middle of the road as far as barley wines go. Flavor is not very strong, especially for being barrel aged. Palate is much sharper than I would have liked. Maybe it will improve with age
