Apr 23, 2006 A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is quite faint, but what is there is of malt and caramel. The flavor is better, with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of alcohol and vanilla (from the oak). The end is very dry and quite woody, but also with notes of cowberries.

Feb 20, 2005 Updated: Apr 27, 2005Bottled. Hazy red, near no head. Woody apple brandy nose - calvados! malty and sweet with clean mouthfeel and a completely overpowering bourbon/calvados wood flavour. Sugary finish. One-dimensional undiluted barrel flavour. A disappointment.

Apr 7, 2005 Updated: Mar 23, 2008Hazy reddish-amber. Crazy boozy vanilla maple colour. Sweet, like a maple liqueur (but not as gross as those tend to be), with a soft maltiness. Nice firm alcoholic finish. A simple beer, but highly effective.
