ABV: 11.1% Calories: estimated at 400 C Volume: 22 fl oz Glass: Snifter Purchased at: West Trenton Wine and Liquors Price: $7.99 Consumed at: home Impression: Beyond a barleywine - this is just like wine. Too much like wine for me, personally. The color is amazing, deep, and dark ruby. There is just a wispy head. The aroma is intoxicating, but the alcohol is very hard to hide. It burns the nostrils. It has a very long, nice aftertaste, and activates all corners of the mouth. It grows quickly on you. It’s strong, but the strength is well crafted. Flavors include raisin, rum, red wine, alcohol, anise, oak, barley. Definitely hard to drink quickly - very much like light shots, and with a strong shock. Chocolate aftertones. Very heavy, thick, cloying, and indulgent. Bold. Aroma: 7 out of 10 Visuals: 5 out of 5 Taste: 7 out of 10 Palate: 5 out of 5 Overall: 17 out of 20. I liked the way it looked, it’s presence, and it’s boldness, but the alcohol content really outweighs any real tasting in this beer, and in a way defeats it.

Light ruby pour, no head. Aroma is fruity with sweet apricot, alcohol, grape, caramel, and vanilla. Flavor is beauteous, hops at start, sweet malt and fruitiness follows, and caramel sticks at the end. Palate is nice- not too watery, lingers nicely. Very nice beer.

orange amber pour with no head. Smooth sweet vanilla fruit and hops in the nose. Hoppy in the beginning then a sweet malt middle and a woody alcohol finish. A rather good barley wine

Copper ruby pour with no head. Aroma is caramel with some citrus hops and nectar fruit. Alcohol comes out as well. Flavor is vinous and fruity with lots of sweetness. Alcohol tinge lingers on the palate. Palate is smooth, prickling, and warming. A little over hopped.

pours a dark orange amber with a soft creamy light tan head which lasts as a film... lots of spotty and drippy lacing. something tingles the nostrils... spice or alcohol. i don’t know but it’s not unpleasant... very rich aroma of caramel, malty cereal grain, vanilla/oak and a nice mild bourbon note. the flavor is reminiscent of a well aged vintage BW... low sweetness (yet it’s still sweet) with a ton of malty grain almost like it’s been aged and oxidized with some vanilla, caramel, citrus/orange, wood and spicy bourbon. spicy finish with abv% coming in late really helps to offset the sugar level. medium to full body. really creamy texture and smooth mouth feel. it’s not sticky! the entire bottle is a bit much but one glass is really good!...

Really enjoyed this beer...acquired in a trade with Tweety (trade with him if you get an opportunity). Burnt orange color with a nice off-white 2" head. Caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, and oak...really tasty. Wish this was available in AZ!!! Interesting, complex, unique.
