warrior (213), Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 12, 2006 Beer was a cloudy dark amber in color. Had a full tan head that clung to the glass. Rich malty aromas with some fruity aromas mixed in with a mild whiskey oak coming through. Good full malt body with some mild whiskey and fruit mixed in. A very complex beer but not as much whiskey barrel and vanilla flavors as I expected.
Mette (106), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 29, 2008 Drukket til ungdomsklubben augustsmagning. Jeg havde selv medbragt den. Uklar rødbrun med næsten intet skum. Lidt støvet i duften, tørrede frugter, karameller. sprut, chokolade, allehånde og vanille i duft og smag. Der er også noget krydderkage. Ikke meget biterhed. SQNfan (436), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Aug 22, 2008 2005 bottle: Ugh, way too hot. I was really looking forward to this one. It was in the refridgerator for 2 weeks (long story) and first consumed right out of the fridge and alcohol dominated the nose and palate. craftycarl21 (184), South Hero, Vermont, USA Aug 20, 2008 Light ruby pour, no head. Aroma is fruity with sweet apricot, alcohol, grape, caramel, and vanilla. Flavor is beauteous, hops at start, sweet malt and fruitiness follows, and caramel sticks at the end. Palate is nice- not too watery, lingers nicely. Very nice beer. Jblauvs (154), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Aug 18, 2008 orange amber pour with no head. Smooth sweet vanilla fruit and hops in the nose. Hoppy in the beginning then a sweet malt middle and a woody alcohol finish. A rather good barley wine oteyj (322), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Aug 18, 2008 Copper ruby pour with no head. Aroma is caramel with some citrus hops and nectar fruit. Alcohol comes out as well. Flavor is vinous and fruity with lots of sweetness. Alcohol tinge lingers on the palate. Palate is smooth, prickling, and warming. A little over hopped.
